Economic, ecological and social aspect of municipal waste recovery

Summary/Abstract: This article presents the definition of waste recovery in both the broad and the narrow sense. Special attention was paid to the indirect benefits of such recovery. The advantages were shown from macro and micro-economic perspectives. In addition, the need to keep a balance between three aspects of modern waste management, namely economic, ecological and social dimensions, was emphasized. Next in the paper, the use of modern technologies in enhancing the process of preventing waste accumulation was discussed. Finally, the possibilities of using waste as a potential source of energy were mentioned in.
