Summary/Abstract: The study "The Bălăceano family in the history of Romania" is based on numerous unpublished documents from the collections and collections of the National Archives of Romania. In particular, the Bălăceano family documents were highlighted: civil status documents (birth certificates, baptismal certificates, marriage certificates, ownership documents, property sharing documents or free circulation documents in European states), From the Ion Bălăceano logo (1798 - 1878), continuing with his sons Constantin, Stefan and Ion and with their successors Grigore and Constantin Bălăceano-Stolnici (born in 1923). The article presents a presentation of their activity in the public domain, charities and their participation in the Romanian Revolution of 1848 - 1849, the War of Independence of 1877 - 1878, the military campaign of Bulgaria, 1913 and the War for the Unity of the Nation of 1916-1919. A large presentation is dedicated to the personality of the great European diplomat Iancu Bălăceano (1828-1914), based on his correspondence with Prime Minister Ion C. Brătianu
