Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to describe the characteristics of translated Polish speculative fiction on the example of Otchłań (2015) by Robert J. Szmidt — a part of a larger non-English language literary project, namely, Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro 2033 (2005—2015). The article aims to demonstrate its peripheral character in the framework of Anglophone literatures.
