This study aims to review a range of theoretical approaches and practical solutions offered by the literature on the concept of organizational conflict. The paper refers to the economic, political, social, cultural and security in which the contemporary organization operates and especially the military organization. One of the fundamental characteristics of the military organization is the diversity of human resources that make it up, leading both advantages and disadvantages in terms of management. In the final part of the study, we present some options for solving problems of cultural diversity within the military system, with emphasis on the idea of flexibility and adaptation techniques in the exercise of managerial leadership.

Between 23rd December 1916 - 10th November 1918, Braila lived the terror and drama of life under the German occupation. Over the centuries that have passed since then, few have been bent on the events of that period, and when they did, they focused on the aspects of the military situation and of the social, economic, albeit ecclesiastical life, though in those times of bitter suffering and humiliation, the role of priests, on the front, or in the parishes, was an extremely important one, since they were called to relieve suffering, to encourage souls, to cultivate hope, in a word to raise morale to their faithful. In the few pages where some historians have referred to Braila’s situation during the German occupation, information on religious life is extremely low, and is presented tangentially, not for their intrinsic value, but to reinforce statements about other issues. The present study aims, on the basis of the archive documents of those years, kept in the custody of the Brăila Deanery, to address this shortcoming and to present the involvement of priests and churchmen from this cause in the war effort of the Romanian army, the main lines of liturgical, missionary, spiritual and cultural activities they have carried out among their parishioner, and last but not least, their social situation and their families during the Great War.

On June 28, 1936, on the invitation of his voters from the Vinţu de Jos commune – from the former Arad County Council, Iuliu Maniu delivered a speech of maximum historical resonance. On this occasion, the great politician inventoried, in slightly laudatory words, the achievements of the National Peasants’ Party – PNŢ, at the same time criticizing the liberals, his permanent political opponents, and King Carol II, too, whom he approved of and endeavored to reinstate him on the throne.

May another reality exist so as to generate our physical world? Both Mihai Drăgănescu and Edmund Husserl said yes. But there is a main difference between those two approaches. So, Romanian scholar Mihai Drăgănescu proposed an ontological model with strong phenomenological character in which information and material principles are at the same level. Instead Husserl proposed an idealist (transcendental) solution. In this respect Drăgănescu’s model seems to be more general and consistent. Also Mihai Drăgănescu says that Husserl’s Phenomenology can be integrated in his model. But for this some problems appeared. Our present work is dedicated to identifying such problems. In subsequent material we will analyze how these problems can be solved.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the relationship between the financial market and economic growth on a sample of six emerging countries, members of the European Union. For this purpose, we will use the OLS estimator and a panel model. The empirical results obtained so far show the existence of a two-way causality between the financial market and economic growth. However, following the use of a VAR model, it turned out that the influence of economic growth on the banking system development is significantly stronger than vice versa.

This paper aims at exploring the drivers of dwellings’sale prices in Bucharest, Romania, over the period 2014-2018. Several housing structural attributes are covered, such as the number of rooms, useful and constructed surface, type of comfort, floor, the number of bathrooms, balconies and parking, the seniority from construction, as well as from renovation, structure type, height regime, and the duration until completion of the real estate transaction. By estimating a standard hedonic price model via OLS regression for a sample of 765 transactions, we notice that all the selected variables, except the floor level and seniority from construction, positively influence the property prices. However, in case of useful and constructed surface, nonlinear relationships with property prices were acknowledged. Robustness checks in form of quantile regressions reinforce the empirical findings.

Historical anthropology is the study of the human beings in all their spatial and temporal contexts. Pursuing phenomena such as archetypes, symbols, mythical allegories, it aims to capture constant representations and perennial structures of the collective consciousness, which are fundamentally the same for all the people, in ancient and modern times, and for all the historical societies. The polemical debates of the last centuries, carried out in different cultural environments, have attempted either to claim the rights of the mythical imaginary or to curtail the study of myths and mythologies. Myths have been either ignored or included in an ambiguous rational explanation that mixes philosophical, sociological, biological, psychoanalytic hypotheses and methods which contradict each other. The main reason for the controversy among philosophers, ethno-sociologists, historians, etc. is the relationship between truth and myth. The historians and the mythologists have discovered that myths are related both to knowledge and morality. They promote key virtues since the mythological universe assembles themes such as the conflict between good and evil, nostalgia for origins, the exemplary model of sages and heroes. The myth was understood as a narrative full of lessons for all the members of the community. The myth has been the anthropological foundation (Gilbert Durand) on which the frail and incomplete memories of successive generations have built up. The myths represent a complex mental and cultural reality, which can only be approached from multiple and complementary perspectives. Mircea Eliade defined the myth as a sacred history, as the first instructor of humanity. Myths are a living memory that connects the generations and ensures solidarity with the past. The permanence of the myths is related to their fundamental components; archetypes, symbols, metaphors, allegories, expressive elements included in narratives, which grant them features such as polysemy and versatility. All the historical epochs were characterized by various mythological expressions, which materialized in different forms: literary (story, epics, legends, fairy tales, fables, etc.), religious (parables, parables, hagiographies), artistic (painting, architecture, sculpture), political (speeches, programs, ceremonies). The rituals and the celebrations were the most effective means of the collective expression of myths.

The end of the First World War did not mean the total cessation of military operations for defending the Greater Romania. The opposition to the unification with Bassarabia Bukovina and Transylvania disturbed the neighbours from the East and West, including Hungary, which lost one of the most important provinces, Transylvania. Soviet Russia had begun to take action against Romania using Ukrainian Bolsheviks who made a plan to annihilate the Romanian army. In order to carry out the plans for the dismemberment of Greater Romania, they made connections with the Bolsheviks from the Republic of Hungarian Councils led by Béla Kun, who had taken over the power in Budapest. The adjournments of the Great Powers of establishing a border line between Romania and Hungary, offered the opportunity to be taken actions to repress the Romanians who remained behind the demarcation successive border lines between the two countries. In the spring of 1919 took place the first actions of the Hungarian troops which wanted to recover the lost Transylvania, by their advancing to the last demarcation border line.Together with the Romanian army and even within it, also operated a part of the groups of Romanian volunteers which operated on the fronts of the First World War. The means-tested social benefits provided in Romania are guaranteed minimum income, family support allowance, and heating aid. In this paper, we focus on the allocation of the guaranteed minimum income and their impact on the beneficiaries. Using data from Family Household Budget Survey 2016 we describe the profile of the beneficiaries, and we analyze the extent to which guaranteed minimum income beneficiaries continue to be in situations such as severe material deprivation, and relative poverty after social transfers. The results show that most beneficiaries are in severe material deprivation, with more than half of them deprived of food and new clothes. Also, the guaranteed minimum income manages to lift only 2% out of relative monetary poverty.

In this essay, I examine how an eighteenth-century Transylvanian nobleman constructed the meanings of kinship and family relations. The investigation primarily draws on the autobiographical work of László Székely (1716–1772), an educated and sensitive Transylvanian nobleman, who recorded the brief history of his family and himself. Being orphaned at a young age the author made his way out in life without the help of his biological parents, with the advice and support of his extended family: guardians, blood relatives, brothers-in-law; and other personal connections, such as servants, former colleagues, and friends. Due to the detailed description of his lineage and his constant preoccupation to record the major family events the present article offers an exhaustive study of the emotional bonds and kinship ties between some of the most important noble families from Transylvania.
