Owszem, w różnoraki sposób do niej nawiązuje. [z recenzji dr hab. Grzegorza Pełczyńskiego, prof. Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego]

The article describes the role of social media in the presentation of gender issues on the basis of the example of Caitlyn Jenner. It is not only the story of a public figure, in addition a transgender one, who underwent a successful transformation into a woman. It is also the story of an extraordinary media campaign that makes use of the most of the available tools of the traditional media and Web 2.0 tools, in order to reach the widest possible audience and build a completely new image of a forgotten American hero and a supporting star of the worldwide popular reality show.

In this paper we analyse the charters of Govora Monastery, not only from the perspective of their contents, but also with an accent on the chancellery form of the documents. At the end of the 15th and during the 16th centuries the monasteries were not only a network of religious and economic centres, but also hubs of political power. Govora Monastery makes no exception and, after a flourishing period during the reins of Vlad the Monk and especially Radu the Great, it remained emblematic, for their descendants, as a foundation of the Drăculesti dynasty. These charters demonstrate that Govora’s prestige of princely foundation is used as a field of legitimacy discourse by the princes who ruled Wallachia in the 16th century (Neagoe Basarab, Radu from Afumati, Mircea the Shepherd, to mention just a few of them), keeping alive the memory of Radu the Great, and are also interesting because they preserve, like in a time capsule, fragments of the political struggles from the beginning of the 16th century, thus becoming true treasures of the social memory. The novelty of this type of research, even if it takes a lot of patience to do and is often challenging, is that the information discovered or infered from charters confirm, invalidate or explain historical events about which we have scarce knowledge from other sources. We are sure that the future studying of the chancellary documents will continue to unveil fscinating historical facts.

Proceedings Ecofeminism: between women's and green studies, edited by Goran Đurđević and Suzana Marjanić (Durieux Publisher, Zagreb, 2020), consists of 40 texts from the humanities and social sciences (anthropology, journalism, political science, sociology, literary theory, science of education) and art (poetry and prose), written by 37 authors from Croatia, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, the United Kingdom and the United States. The starting point for edited book was workshop cycle on the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb organized with help of professor Drago Roksandić and there was created idea for book by Mirjana Grabovac, Karmen Ratković and Suzana Marjanić. Also, various colleagues such as Dražen Tončić and Mirta Maslać from Durieux, artist Kristina Pongrac and reviewers Ivica Bakota, Zlatko Bukač and Ana Stojanović have been an important part of this volume. The aims of the collection are to actualize ecofeminism and encourage critical reflection and analysis of long-term ecofeminism in Croatia and Southeast Europe; permeation of global and local approaches and knowledge transfer; openness to young authors. For these reasons, the book can be read on several levels: theoretical as a contribution to the knowledge of the theory of ecofeminism in the context of contemporary trends, socio-political as an analysis of social processes and structures, activist through the analytical perspective of activism of individual groups and actors in public, performative and political life. The final part of the volume are poems and this piece of book shows a holistic approach to ecofeminism and integration of scholarship, essays and art which is leading back to the roots and indigenous perspectives of life and community understood as integration.

In this text I shall confront two forms of hybridity: hybridity of a theory and hybridity of a subject, with a caveat, that these are different forms of hybridity. In the case of theory, it is about the epistemological hybridity of a piece of work, referring to different disciplinary approaches. I am operating with the interpretative platforms of confrontation of theories of art, studies of culture/gender and philosophical constructs relocated from their home contexts into non-home productions of ‘philosophical organs’ deprived of a body. In the case of a subject, it is about the performability within the cultural and, narrower still, artistic material practices of posing, representing and identifying gender identity in an image and with the help of an image. It is not about the gender identity of a ‘human being’ (from an organism to a being), but it is about pointing to representations of gender identities in artistic and cultural advocating media.

THIS ARTICLE COMES FROM A SENSE OF DISCONTENT THAT THE CULTURAL POSITION OF EAST/CENTRAL EUROPEAN FEMINISMS HAS NOT BEEN THEORIZED ENOUGH IN COMPARISON WITH OTHER NON-FIRST WORLD FEMINISMS. I USE A RHETORICAL FIGURE, ZEUGMA, IN ORDER TO UNDERPIN THE SPECIFICITY AND THE COMMONALITIES OF THE POST-COMMUNIST AREA FEMINISMS AS COMPARED TO THE HEGEMONIC FEMINISMS OF THE WORLD, OR TO THIRD WORLD FEMINISMS. ZEUGMA (FROM AN ANCIENT GREEK WORD MEANING ‘BRIDGE’) IS A FIGURE OF SPEECH THAT RELIES ON BALANCE AND ACCEPTANCE OF GRAMMATICAL DIFFERENCE. AN ALMOST PERFECT CULTURAL SPACE SHIFTER, EAST/CENTRAL EUROPE PRODUCES FEMINIST DISCOURSES THAT CONSTITUTE ZEUGMATIC SPACES IN THE WORLDWIDE CONCERTO OF WORLD FEMINISMS.

Politics is a ubiquitous term today. The author, a representative of social pedagogy (anthropogics), analyzes various approaches to politics, focuses on social and educational policy, looking for a place for gender politics. In her dissertation, she provides a critical insight into the educational policy in Poland after the 1989 political transformation. On the one hand, education is here understood broadly, also outside school, in the public space, from where messages about the educational dimension flow. On the other hand, the focus is directed to selected aspects of gender politics and education, which are critical to the development of girls and women, especially sexual education and reproductive rights. The end of writing the thesis coincided with the outbreak of the Revolution of Women (Autumn 2020), who called for democracy and their civil rights. The publication can help readers understand why this happened.
