Yovkov’s treatment of war covers the full range of the life time during the cataclysmic event, i.e. there is a focus on its many-sided designation and manifestation. This text focuses on the work “Countrymen”, investigating the leading conceptual line in it - the movement of particular fi ction constructions and suggestions to their universal meanings. Its aims are related to the analysis of the dense network of references that in its own various functioning systematically develop the idea of m oral-psychological validity of the depicted war world and also – the concept of the dimensions of its expression in the particular inner state.

The article examines the part of Petko Todorov’s characters, that appears to remain away from the reception of literary criticism. These are all the famele characters, no mater their ethnicity or social status. This work propeses a semeotic analysis of all elements involved in the construction of the characters, looking for their common features and distinctive characteristics. As dominant in female imagery is displayed their exclusiveness – both in their appearance and their behavior. A conclusion is formulated, that Petko Todorov’s heroines aspire to love and freedom transgress taboos of the community and become a victim of their own modern selfhood.

The actuality of the topic is related to changes in literature education in Bulgaria after 1989, which some defi ne as a reform, but they do not make difference between today’s type of education and the one that emerged at the end of the totalitarian era. The reason is that a there was not a detailed analysis of the historical characteristics of literature education in the country before 1944. It is therefore important to make a research of the proletarian topics in the works of Hristo Smirnenski and the image of the proletarian leader. The analysis of “Johann” can enrich the topic of the German Revolution in 1918-19.

The “Ugly proses” texts are devoted to uprising in 1919 in Germany. By his ecstatic expressionistc language Geo Milev paint a verbal picture of a burst, outdated moral reality, which is like a resurrection for those who are like already dead in this reality. This historical event is presented in the symbolism of the biblical context which enchances the feeling of predertermination of the event and its perception as an apocalypse. Namely that is typical in the spirit of expressionistic poetics.

The article analyses how the rules of orthography are taught in primary schools. The requirements of the school curriculum, the main difficulties and problems from the methodological and linguistic points of view are specified. The orthographic errors are classified according to the branch of linguistics they belong to - orthographic phonetic errors, orthographic morphological errors, orthographic syntactic errors. Some methodological approaches are recommended towards acquiring orthographic competence and building orthographic awareness. Particular attention is paid to the use of the short and full forms of the definite article.

The destruction of the utopian myth of an achievable new socialist order seems to have begun even before 1944, but this wreckage, which took more than four decades, is visible in Khristo Smirnenski’s poetry in just seven years. The road from “The Red Squadrons” to “The Tale of the Stairs” is lived in but a breath, and for it to be entered into the canons, almost half of it would have to be obliterated, forbidden, forgotten or misinterpreted. In the poems signed under Khristo Izmirliev’s other pseudonym – Wedball, we discover new horizons of his poetical capabilities. Thirteen of his poems, published posthumously, outlined the fi nishing touches of his image in literature. At the end of his lifetime, taken down by tuberculosis, he doesn’t fall into despair. All he does is to portray, in the most perceivable way, the dismantling of an illusion.

Съвременната езикова ситуация и междукултурната комуникация в българските общности в чужбина

The cultural-historical and language situation of the Bulgarian communities abroad is changing in accordance with the changes in contemporary world, both here in Bulgaria and in the countries with Bulgarian communities. The paper focuses on the changes in the language situation in the Bulgarian communities abroad after 1989. Specific data is presented about the creation of civil and state structures: associations, local self-governing structures, Sunday schools; music, dance and theater clubs; newspapers and magazines, television and radio broadcasts, etc. On the basis of a theoretical analysis of the characteristics of intercultural communication the article highlights the specifics of the process of development of intercultural communicative competence of the young Bulgarians living abroad. Conclusions about the contemporary education in Bulgarian language in foreign language environment are made.

This text describes different online forms introduced in the last 10 years in the teaching of practical Slovak language and a number of theoretical Slovakistic disciplines based on a synchronous approach, such as phonetics,morphology, lexicology, syntax, stylistics of contemporary Slovak language, and diachronic orientated disciplines such as the historical grammar of the Slovaklanguage and the history of Slovak literature. This work presents three basic typesof online forms, such as elements of e-learning: the reference form dominating inonline dictionaries, the form of memorization typical of the lexical simulator andthe control form used in online tests. Having said that, the role of two scientificprojects for the realization of these forms is emphasized – the project Bulgarian Virtual Slovakistics (2008-2010) and the project Virtual Slovakistics (2018).

The edition contains various texts with eschatological visionary content. One of them is the “Trials of the Soul ” – a part from the “Vita of St. Basilthe New”. The main text of the “Vita of St. Basil the New” appeared during the Middle Ages. The text became popular again during the Renaissance, and especially the part of the soul`s trials of Blessed Theodora.This edition is translated from Church Slavonic language and was published by Naiden Ioanovich in 1843. The translation from the Church Slavonic was made by Joakim Kurchovski. This study aims to describe the edition in terms of content and specific features of the Bulgarian literary language.

The concept that this method of teaching provokes theinterest of children is being expressed, as well as the fact that it awakens their emotionality,helps for the implementation of connections between subjects and as a whole raises the efficiency of Bulgarian language lessons.
