Latinska slovnica Filipa Kunića u odnosu na hrvatsko gramatičko nazivlje
This analysis concentrates on the work Slovnica jezika latinskoga ilirski iztumačenaza porabu mladeži bosanske (‘A Latin Grammar Translated into Illyrian to Be Used by Young Bosnians’; Vienna, 1857) by Filip Kunić, a Bosnian Franciscan, who adapted a Croatian edition of the Latin grammar Institutiones Grammaticae (first edition 1807–1809) by József Grigely.Because this grammar describes Latin, the analysis considers not only the structure of the book’s content, but also its Croatian grammatical terminology(covering phonology, morphology, and syntax), and definitions of grammatical terms. A comparative view of this grammar in relation to several other Latin grammars – those by Antun Mažuranić (1839) and Adolfo Veber Tkalčević (1853) – is included. Kunić used these grammars, in addition to the one by Stjepan Marijanović, as direct model s for his edition.
