The monograph presents the issues of managing network organizations in both theoretical and practical terms. The enterprises operate in a competitive and unstable environment, which is considered a normal phenomenon in a free-competitive economy. They constantly look for better and better solutions for the effective functioning of their business. Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are a key element of any market economy. These entities are perceived as a group facing numerous barriers, both at the time of their creation and further operation. One of the key limitations, often conditioning the establishment or continuation of operations, is the difficult access to financing sources. Therefore, this publication focused on selected methods of raising capital that are currently convenient for the MSME sector. The following instruments were analyzed and assessed: crowdfunding aimed at enterprises, loans and credits, considered from the perspective of microfinance, as well as a mortgage loan as a way to finance investment projects. All these forms share a common idea - financial support for the MSME sector in accessing capital. The main aim of the study was to broaden the knowledge of the indicated financial instruments, to present their functioning in Poland in a compact manner and to verify their current structure and availability for enterprises. It should also be emphasized that all the discussed instruments can be used successfully in the booming economy, but they are of particular importance in a downturn. The period covered by the analysis is the perspective of the last dozen or so years, and the geographical scope covers Poland, with reference to examples occurring in other countries.

The purpose of this book is to identify changes in industrial relations in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, with particular emphasis on the area of representative employee participation. The structure of the work was subordinated to the implementation of the above objective. Chapter 1 discusses the most important stages of the process of creating a European dimension of industrial relations and presents the main models of industrial relations existing in Europe. An analysis of selected components of labor relations in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) before and several years after accession to the EU was also carried out. Chapter 2 is devoted to the two main forms of representative employee participation in the CEE countries. The first part of this chapter presents the difficult process of "formation" of works councils in Central and Eastern Europe and the principles of operation of these institutions of employee participation. The next part of the chapter, based on the results of research conducted as part of the NCN project, presents the main sources of weakness of works councils in Polish enterprises. The last part of this chapter focuses on discussing employee representation in corporate governance bodies, both at the national and European level. Chapter 3 of the book analyzes the impact of the following three phenomena on industrial relations: globalization, the 2008 economic crisis and the coronavirus pandemic.

In the last half of century, several researches prove that social networks play an important role in the transfer of job information on the labour market. The major part of the researches focuses on the employees, and the linked, employer-employee type data sets in the specific literature are conspicuously rare and unique. This paper aims to seize the characteristics of employment strategies, based on three case studies. The location of the research is Harghita County; all the three case studies were performed on medium-sized private enterprises which perform industrial activities characteristic to the county (construction, confection and lumber industry). Data obtained by the methods of semi-structured deep interview, questionnaires and document analysis were processed by organizations, therefore the reduced number of cases did not allow for a deeper statistical data processing. Based on international and regional researches, we set up three major hypotheses about the spread of informal recruitment and job search strategies. The hypothesis has been sustained considering all three enterprises from the employee’s point of view: regarding the informal job search strategies versus formal strategies, the informal methods are more frequent. In our case, analysing the three enterprises the rate lays between 54–77%, which means higher than the other measured quotas (27–64%). The employer’s side sustained the hypothesis in two companies. The frequent use of informal recruitment channels is motivated by the quality of these applicants. The use of the informal channels in recruitment in the case of two companies (construction and lumber industries), is motivated by the utmost large social networks of the employer. This also justifies the fact that these companies practice a passive recruitment. Since the important professional relationship networks at the textile enterprise seem to be significant, the main difference in the recruitment practice at the organization is not totally justified by the extent of the relationship capital. Although it cannot be shown directly from the research, the active or passive recruitment is also stated by the incomes, job security and the personality of employers. Within the informal channels, all three enterprises emphasize the strength of the weak ties. In finding a job or in recruiting employees, the professional relationships play the most important role, but employee referrals are not the most frequent informal recruitment methods.

Standing finansowy a zrównoważony rozwój przedsiębiorstw w Polsce. Badania sektorowe

Sustainable development of enterprises is a process of quantitative and qualitative changes aimed at achieving favorable results in economic, social and environmental dimensions. One of the key factors affecting the sustainable development of enterprises is the financial standing, identified with the general financial and property situation of the enterprise, its credibility and ability to settle liabilities. The main objective of the monograph is to assess the impact of the financial standing on the sustainable development of enterprises according to the section of Polish Classification of Economic Activities in 2008-2019. The implementation of the research objective required the use of the method of critical and retrospective review of selected literature on the subject (Polish and foreign), cause-and-effect analysis, creation of econometric models. The layout of the work was subordinated to the verification of the adopted main hypothesis - Financial standing has a statistically significant impact on the sustainable development of enterprises according to the section of Polish Classification of Economic Activities in 2008-2019". The monograph consists of an introduction, six chapters, conclusion, bibliography, list of figures, tables and charts. The introduction contains a synthetic approach to the issues, the main hypothesis and sub-hypotheses. The first two chapters are theoretical and related to the sustainable development of enterprises and the financial standing as its determinant. The third chapter presents the research methodology. The next three chapters present the empirical analysis. At the end, a summary and conclusions resulting from the research are presented.

Railway transport is the backbone of all long-distance mobility networks that provide regional, interurban and international services in every country. Over the last 20 years, as a result of the rapid development of high-speed railway freights, the demand for passenger railway transport has increased in Europe, more specifically in Germany, France, Spain and Italy. This trend is expected to manifest in Eastern European countries as well, including Bulgaria. This new understanding of the significance of public transport, combined with the fact that railways are the safest, most secure, most energy efficient, and most environmentally friendly means of transportation, determines its future role in passenger mobility in Europe. Bulgaria's railway network holds a strategic place in the European railway system, as the majority of it also falls within the scope of the Trans-European Transport Network. In that regard, the development of the railway sector in Bulgaria should create the necessary conditions for the economic and social development of the country, provide effective, safe and sustainable transport, and assist the balanced regional development. This monographic work presents a new approach for changing the attitudes consumers have in regards to using railway transport. As such, the primary factors that have the most influence on people's choice to use passenger railway transport have been analyzed. The guidelines and recommendations in the study can be implemented in the organization of train traffic by interested parties, namely the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) and Bulgarian State Railways (BSR). Their practical realization will increase the quality of the provided services, which in turn will improve the social and economic effectiveness of the national carrier.
