Značenje i funkcija “sestre” u kontekstu Muziiovog shvatanja ljubavi

In this paper the authoress establishes the poly-semantic, multifunctional concept of the “sister” as one of the most significant categories of Robert Musil’s understanding of love. The “sister” is the inner image which “represents” the human need for the realization of “the other”, ethically based “life in love”. The experience of unification with the being of other people and things, which is at the root of this form of life, can be achieved with the help of a more or less depersonalized love object, which analogically corresponds to the inner “image of the sister”. The analogical principle of metaphor is present not only in the structure of the “image of the sister” but also in the mechanism of its binding with the love object. In the “love between twins” the “image of the sister” takes the form of the real sister Agathe, who represents the “Doppelganger” of Ulrich’s soul. “Creative participation” in the “love between twins” is based on the establishing of the mutual content, the so called “third sister”, which is supposed to insure the continuation of the condition of unification.

The logic of hyphen is being analyzed in grammatical, but also in spatial and visual sense, for it indicates distance/interval which appears within "identity" which presents itself as one and unique. The concept of singularity is introduced here as that which is not universal subject, but at the same time as that which can not be simply differentiated from universal. In that sense, the way in which hyphen functions can be read as the way in which singularity functions, and as relation of a singularity with the other singularity.

Descendență ontologică și temporalitate la Emil Cioran

This paper investigates the stages of ontological de-gradation, as presentes in the work of Emil Cioran, La chute dans le temps, arguing that each of these three stages – primordial being, historical being, posthistorical being – can be linked to a certain „state of consciousness” and temporality. To this purpose, we will make appeal to a few concepts from I.D. Gherea’s phenomenology, also revealing the similarities of perspective of the two Romanian philosophers.

Etnicul românesc în viziunea lui Constantin Rădulescu-Motru

After several studies in which he had analysed the features of the Romanian soul, Constantin Rădulescu-Motru, both a systematic philosopher and a psychologist, aimed to provide a synthesis and a conclusion in his work Romanian Ethnicity. Here he offered more than a moral portrait of the Romanian cultural identity; he exposed a general theory on how the ethnicity is constituted as a progressive awareness of the community of origin, language and destiny of a people. This essay aims to make explicit his demonstration, to show how it applies to the Romanian cultural space, to present the philosopher’s conclusions about the finality of ethno-psychology, to which he attributes not only a theoretical utility, but also an active social role in educating the masses and consolidating the nation-state by cultivating patriotic feelings.

Constantin Rădulescu-Motru’s Lessons on Logic offer an original point of view on the status of logic, despite being presented in a series of lectures held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Bucharest in 1914–1915. Unlike Titu Maiorescu and the other Maiorescians, Rădulescu-Motru conceives logic as a science that has its sources in experience; it does not issue a priori principles that guide the sciences, but limits itself to „the inquiry into the certainty of science data”.

The Moral Status of Animals: Degrees of Moral Status and the Interest Based Approach

This paper addresses the issue of the moral status of non-human animals, or the question whether sentient animals are morally considerable. The arguments for and against the moral status of animals are discussed, above all the argument from marginal cases. It is argued that sentient animals have moral status based on their having interests in their experiential well-being, but that there are degrees of moral status. Two interest-based approaches are presented and discussed: DeGrazia’s view that sentient animals have interests in continuing to live, and that their interests should be granted moral weight; and McMahan’s TRIA which similarly postulates that animals have interests and that in a given situation we should compare the human and animal interests at stake. Finally, the paper concludes that the anthropocentric approach to animal ethics should be abandoned in favour of the biocentric ethics.

L’Amant Double Filminde Öteki Mekân Temsili Olarak Heterotopya

Considering that the relationship between power and subject is shaped by biopower with the transition to modern life, Michel Foucault developed the theory of heterotopia as a way to get rid of this structure that limits the individual. While modern urban life offers the individual a life style which is in accordance with power in the business life, individuals who go against these rules try to create new spaces for themselves by wanting to alienatine from society. In this context, while Foucault argues that there is the idea of space in the basis of the anxiety of individuals in the twentieth century, he wants to highlight the idea of creating new spaces, namely heterotopia. Based on Foucault’s heterotopia and Stavrides’ thresholds theory, this study examines the areas of heterotopia as a represantation of the other space in François Ozon’s L’Amant Double. The heterotopia areas that were used remarkably in the movie L’Amant Double were effective in selecting the study as a sample. In this context, psychiatry clinics as deviation heterotopias, museums as time heterotopias, mirror heterotopia as a non-existent place and bridges and stairs as threshold areas are the categories that are examined in the film. This study aims to analyse the forms of heterotopia which has been presented in different ways in cinema while studying the fields of heterotopia as the representation of the other space in L’Amant Double.

THE CREATIVE POWER OF AFFECTIVE DISCOURSE. RECAPITULATING DELEUZE

In the following article an attempt is made to draw the reader’s attention to the problem of affective and emotional poverty which has resulted from the systematic degradation of everyday experience in contemporary times. The analysis of this problem is based on the writings of different continental philosophers, especially Gilles Deleuze, but also others, like Michel Foucault or Maurice Blanchot. It is suggested that the solution to this problem may lie in the power of creation, and I have tried to offer the reader some techniques or methods which, if undertaken, may develop creativity and release its power. However, the best repertoire of such techniques is to be found in the writings of the above mentioned researchers, so the reader is directed to the original sources.

CZY MOŻNA BYĆ JEDNOCZEŚNIE KONSERWATYSTĄ I LIBERAŁEM? FRANK MEYER I „FUZJONIZM”

The topic of this paper is the thought of Frank S. Meyer, a prominent figure in post-world-war-II American right-wing intellectual movement. One feature commonly ascribed to Meyer is the ambition to fuse (thus the term “fusionism” associated with his name) a classical liberal concern for individual freedom and more conservative persuasion of virtue being the ultimate goal of human existence. With the issue of right relation of freedom to virtue are grouped other issues, also meriting consideration: the problem of use of reason and tradition in political enquiry, the nature and proper role of the state, the relation of individual person to society (or other superindividual entities). We look at these issues throughout this paper. We look also at Meyer’s position in intellectual traditions of liberalism (broadly construed) and conservatism, concluding that he belongs to the liberal camp (classical liberal, more on the libertarian side), and not to the conservative one.

БОРБА ЗА ИСТИНУ У „ЦРНИМ СВЕСКАМА“ МАРТИНА ХАЈДЕГЕРА

In this text and the book from which it is an extract – The Black Notebooks and Heidegger’s Anti-Semitism, the author critically analyzes the most recent debate sparked by Heidegger’s anti-Semitism on the pages of his Black Notebooks (Schwarze Hefte), an ‘intimate’ diary of sorts. The debate began in 2014 and gained momentum, becoming a matter of public relevance and consequently spilling over into the channels of the wider cultural public, eliciting impassioned responses from the wider audience. It was not long before the matter came to be referred to as a ‘scandal’, ‘affair’ or the ‘Heidegger case’. The heavy shadow of anti-Semitism fell on Heidegger, not from the outside but rather from the pages of his own manuscript. The author highlights a ‘veritable paradox in the reception of Heidegger’. Heidegger cannot be rejected (due to his unquestionable National Socialism and anti-Semitism) without first familiarizing oneself with his work and reading and studying his thought as a whole. It follows, then, that discussing his work and thought is both necessary and inevitable. Even those who ultimately became firmly convinced that Heidegger introduced National Socialism into philosophy and thereby betrayed and let down the discipline; that he is not a philosopher at all and that his writings should not be kept on the shelves of philosophy libraries – could not have reached such a sweeping view without first exhaustively and meticulously researching Heidegger and his works. Heidegger is impossible to do away with without first getting acquainted with him or even being close to him. Offering a wide panoramic overview of the various quarrels about the Black Notebooks, the author strives to present the elements that set the dominant tone and main direction of the debate and to peel away the conflicting interpretations to uncover the truth about Heidegger’s anti-Semitism. He does not shy away from offering original hermeneutic approaches and critical remarks. He revisits, critiques, asks new questions and proposes novel judgments about Heidegger, his critics and supporters.

Człowiek ma ciało czy jest ciałem? O antydualistycznej antropologii Gabriela Marcela

The aim of the article is to present the anti-dualistic anthropology of Gabriel Marcel. I conclude that the thought of the French philosopher comes from his opposition to Cartesian dualism. Marcel emphasizes the importance of the issue of existence, indicating its inseparability from the body. In the perspective proposed by Marcel, all that is material, beginning with the useful things, ending with the whole matter, is raised to the rank of carnality, the sense of which is concentrated in the interpersonal relations and vertical transcendence.

BİR DÜŞÜNCE HAREKETİ OLARAK ANADOLUCULUK AKIMININ ORTAYA ÇIKIŞI

The historical development of the thought of Anatolianism first emerged at the beginning of the 20th century. The thought of Anatolianism, which is an understanding that emerges specific to the conditions in Turkey, is formed by feeding off the structures created by the economic and social orders and their influence on each other, when considered historically in the context of some currents of thought. The fact that there are different currents of thought and that they have the same or opposite views is the proof that these currents have become an intellectual side after a certain period of time. When the thought of Anatolianism is evaluated in this context, it has drawn a road map similar to this situation. The Anatolian thought in question reacted to the fanciful designs adopted by the Turkism movement and gave more importance to locality. In this context, in this study, especially in the context of the concept of nationalism, the emergence of the thought of Anatolianism, which is a movement of thought, will be discussed.

“THE SYMPATHY OF EXPERIENCE WITH LIFE!” – UNDERSTANDING PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE FROM HEIDEGGER TO GADAMER AND BACK

For both Gadamer’s project of a philosophical hermeneutics as for Heidegger’s early understanding of facticity (Faktizität) as practical knowledge, the problem of application is central and is always linked to the specific conditions under which an individual decides to act within a community. Both also agree on the fact that the sciences of man do involve more than the epistemic subject, this is why the context i.e. the phenomenological concept of ‘world’ becomes part of the understanding process, one that cannot be ignored or transformed into an abstract matter. Understanding is therefore also in a specific way ‘historical’, as the application is dictated by momentary circumstances in life situations, which come before any use of theoretical knowledge and thus do not represent an appendix to theory. While Gadamer continuously insisted on the idea of a practical knowledge (Wissen) that surpasses the separations between theory and praxis, sophia and phronesis, Heidegger radicalized the idea of active thinking as an experience of language in connection to an essential ‘perception’ of Being itself, that goes beyond any subjectivity. The term by which he often characterizes this essential thinking (wesentliches Denken) is Vernehmen: a kind of receptive thinking. This conception of receptive thinking, as some conversations around the Zollikon Seminars and Le Thor/Zähringen will briefly show, lead Heidegger also to some interesting considerations on the human body.

Gravitacija u Boškovića

In Roger Boscovich’s Theory of Natural Philosophy, the dynamics of matter is described by the curve of forces, either attractive or repulsive – depending on the distances of the centres of forces. At great distances, the curve of forces is manifested similar to Newton’s gravitation. The gravitation is integrative for the visible universe, but not for the hypothetical multitude of universes that possibly parallelly exist separated by a repulsive force, comparable to the contemporary concept of the dark energy. In the concept of continuous forces in a discontinuous matter, Faraday recognises the idea of a dynamic electromagnetic field, completed by Maxwell, while Einstein later predicted the existence of gravitational waves recently detected (2015 – 2017, LIGO project). The wave-nature of real space-time matter is found in Boscovich’s model at the small scale of the curve of forces, while the atomic-corpuscular dynamics of classical mechanics is found at the large scale.

U svom tekstu dvije autorice dolaze do rezultata da su pojave novih biotehnologija i njihova primjena, poimence, genetički tastovi i biobanke, tijekom posljednjih deset godina ponukale bioetiku da sve više odustaje od svojih starih, na individuu usmjerenih načela, prije svega načela »informiranog pristanka«, i više se orijentiraju prema zajednici: »Nove trendove u etici mi identificiramo kao uzajamnost, uzajamnu solidarnost, građanstvo i univerzalnost.«

Može li se mišljenje koje sjedinjuje interdisciplinarne preklapajuće tehnoznanosti s hibridnim metafizičkim sustavima filozofije, religije i umjetnosti još uvijek nazivati futurologijskim mišljenjem, kako je to bilo uobičajeno u drugoj polovini 20. stoljeća kad je navještanje besmrtnosti čovjeka graničilo s tzv. SF-sferom od literature do filmova i TV-serija? Čini se da je odgovor unaprijed negativan. Razlog valja vidjeti u tome što je futurologija prestala biti nadomjesnim stanjem postmodernoga proroštva i pretkazanja budućnosti. Ono što pripada nadolazećem razdoblju svjetske povijesti zacijelo se ne može razumjeti iz ove pseudo-mitske igre s fantazijama i astrologijskim predviđanjima novoga doba. Mišljenje koje određuje ono nadolazeće u vremenskome predviđanju događaja iz područja navještanja i proricanja ulazi u računajuće planiranje probabilizma. Na tome se inače sve više i više zasniva znanstvena provjerljivost i mjerljivost bitka, govoreći filozofijski. Dok se, naim e, futurologija 1960-ih godina usmjeravala ideji kako znanosti osim prikaza i predstavljanja tzv. objektivne stvarnosti u vremenskoj dimenziji sadašnjosti trebaju imati izgrađene parametre za što je moguće objektivnije predviđanje budućih trendova u napretku i razvitku tehnologije, rasta stanovništva, ekoloških pitanja te odnosa između klimatskih promjena i društvenih kriza (projekcije i izvješća tzv. Rimskoga kluba), sada je posrijedi posvemašnji obrat.
