MECANISME DE APĂRARE ȘI STRATEGII DE COPING LA ADOLESCENȚI

The article interprets the problem of the relationship between psychological defense mechanisms and coping strategies (coping behavior) in adolescents, which are considered the most important forms of adaptation for individuals in stressful situations. Psychological protection is an unconscious psychic mechanism, meant to minimize a person's negative experiences, to regulate their behavior, to increase their adaptability, and to balance the psychic. The practical study proved the relationship between psychological defense mechanisms and coping strategies used by adolescents in difficult situations: constructive psychological defense mechanisms led to the choice of constructive coping strategies and vice versa, destructive defense mechanisms determined destructive coping strategies.

This article reviews the literature on the skills of emotional intelligence to reduce stress, anxiety, fear, as well as the synthesis of scientific studies that have highlighted the mental pressure and challenges that adolescents go through during the coronavirus pandemic, as well as emphasizing the importance given to the support and emotional psychoeducation of adolescents to maintain mental health. The phenomenon of emotional intelligence is known worldwide and studied by many researchers. The data show that emotional education leads to academic performance, preventing problems, improving behavior or social relationships.

VALOAREA DIAGNOSTICĂ A METODEI APRECIERII OBIECTIVE ÎN IDENTIFICAREA CAZURILOR DE BULLYING LA ELEVII ADOLESCENȚI

In the present study we aim to present the results obtained by using the method of objective appreciation, proposed by the Romanian psychologist Gheorghe Zapan (1957) in researching bullying behaviors in a class of students. The method proved to be a tool able to identify both aggressor (harassing) and victim students, producing results comparable to those obtained by the APRI BT questionnaire, developed by Australian researcher H. Parada (2000) and adapted to the Romanian school population by Cluj researchers. In the second part of the study we verified the method of objective assessment through the classic personality tests: EPQ and self-esteem scale (Rosenberg).

Article presents the results of an experimental research of volition, perseverance in preadolescents, and the interrelation between volition / perseverance and personality traits. As results we established that preadolescents with high level of volition are characterized by courtesy, conscientiousness and emotional stability. The preadolescent with high scores for perseverance besides conscientiousness and emotional stability presents autonomy.

Among children, the acquisition and development of social competencies is closely linked to emotional development. Social and emotional competencies influence how children interact with others (e.g., parents, peers or teachers), how they deal with their emotions, and how they react to the events that happen around them.A growing body of empirical evidence is revealing the value of children’s social and emotional competencies for positive social behaviors, quality of interactions with peers, adjustment of stressful demands, school achievements, psychological well-being, and mental health. Therefore, investigating children’s social and emotional competencies becomes of practical importance to educators, school counselors, and parents. The current study aimed to identify the level of development of social and emotional competencies according to the age and gender of young school-age children. Based on the answers given by the parents at two screening scales, we obtained profiles of social and emotional competencies for 100 children (52 girls and 48 boys) aged between 6 and 8 years. Comparative data revealed significant differences depending on the children’s age, but not on their gender. We discuss these findings based on the characteristics of social and emotional development at an early age.

STUDIUL REPREZENTĂRILOR SOCIALE ÎN ERA GLOBALIZĂRII

The interest in finding the genesis of psychosocial phenomena is manifested by various specialists to understand the phenomena involved in the behavior and culture of social groups. Permanent individual-society cohabitation, the permanent flow of information, negotiations, conflicts, tensions or processes of accommodation and cooperation between the individual and society form the specific field of interest of social representations. The effects of globalization and the development of media technology are also felt in the evolution of social psychology. Facilitating personal and institutional contacts, linguistic uniformity through communication in English, the tendency to align with professional training and evaluation according to similar criteria have significantly reduced the geographical differences in the present of our existence. In this context, it could happen that the representations of different social objects studied during sixty years are unique. People reconstruct the social object, re-evaluate it and, thus, the object exists only through the meaning offered by individuals.

Improving school leadership is now high on the list of priorities for school reform. Principals are considered key actors responsible for the successful management of all administrative functions of schools. They bear a great responsibility for maintaining the effective internal functioning of school systems, representing the schools in the community, and implementing educational policies. Principals also act as role models who promote the ethical and professional growth of teachers and other professional staff. Ultimately, school leaders have an indirect but significant impact on student learning and achievement. The purpose of this exploratory study was to determine the social representation of competencies needed for an effective school principal to manage the administrative and instructional process. The participants were 119 female teachers who teach at the elementary level. A standardized task based on the free association method was used to collect data. Participants’ responses were analyzed lexically and semantically to differentiate associations from a qualitative perspective. The structural approach based on the analysis of prototypical categories was also used. The qualitative and quantitative analyzes revealed three facets of teachers’ representation of the competencies of a successful school leader. These dimensions included: a) the mission and basic competencies of a school leader; b) managing interpersonal relationships; c) skills, attitudes, and motivation for managerial career.

THE INFLUENCE OF INTER-GENERATIONAL EDUCATION ON CHILDREN'S CHARACTER

CREATIVITATEA ȘI TULBURAREA DE SPECTRU AUTIST

This paper is an analysis of the literature exploring the use of expressive arts modalities with children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with a focus on emotional regulation and behavior modification. Historically, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has been the standard in terms of behavior modification for this population, but current research and qualitative inquiries suggested that members of this population need more support in emotional regulation and communication than ABA is able to provide. Using an intermodal artsbased method developmentally promotes social and communication abilities in children with ASD. Further, channeling stereotypic behaviors into creative flow can regulate, communicate, and increase self-worth. This was done by framing the work under the Expressive Therapies Continuum and exploring the healing properties of creativity. By allowing individuals living with ASD to create their own form of communication using multiple artistic modalities, it is believed that maladaptive behaviors could decrease, due to a child’s own realization that they are better understood. This could lead to better emotional regulation, efficacy in communication, and stronger socialization. The framework could also benefit clinicians in developing more concise and client-centered treatment plans, that meet both the client’s needs as well as the freedom to incorporate the client’s personal interests.

Seksualno uznemiravanje: uzroci, psihologija uznemiravatelja, rasprostranjenost i posljedice seksualnog uznemiravanja

Polazeći od toga da je seksualno uznemiravanje neželjeno ponašanje seksualne prirode, pravna i sociološka istraživanja pokazuju da je ono prisutno vjekovima, što se ilustruje primjerima seksualne viktimizacije žena u periodu robovlasništva u Americi, preko nisko plaćenog i neregulisanog rada služavki, do rada žena u fabrikama i na pozicijama službenica u kasnom devetnaestom i početkom dvadesetog stoljeća. Osvrćući se na pisane dokumente o iskustvima žena na radu i istorijske preglede, Siegel dokumentuje da se seksualno uznemiravanje dešavalo u različitim kontekstima u kojima su žene radile, te da su se pojavni oblici odnosili i na verbalno i na fizičko uznemiravanja, ali da ni silovanje žena u ovim kontekstima rada nije bilo neuobičajeno.

DEPENDENȚA DIGITALĂ: PATOLOGIE, REMEDII PSIHOLOGICE ȘI DUHOVNICEȘTI

The digital addiction is already acknowledged by the medical specialists as a mental disorder, because it involves a pathological use of the computer or of any other type of technology, characterized by the urgent need to engage in online activities to the obvious detriment of daily and real life (school, family, friendships, etc.). This type of attitude is also dealing to other behavioural disorders. Some psychologists are comparing the states (involving changes in brain maps) caused by digital addiction to those of "classic" (somatic) addictions. Thus, a similarity was identified between the abuse of psychotropic and hallucinogenic substances, which chemically alter the human brain, and the abuse of the virtual space, which psychologically affects the human being as a whole. This is clearly a phenomenon, specific to post-modernity, unprecedented in its scale in history.

One of the most enduring tensions in human history has been the clash between the East and the West. This is not simply a geographical division, but a difference in worldviews that has led to much conflict over the centuries. The East is often seen as mysterious and inscrutable, while the West is associated with rationalism and progress. These differing perspectives have led to clashes on everything from political ideologies to economic systems. Even today, there is a great deal of mistrust between the East and the West, with each side looking at the other with suspicion and misunderstanding. However, it is important to remember that there is far more that unites us than divides us, and that we can learn from one another if we are willing to open our minds. This article is an in-depth analysis of the differences in mentality between East and West and contributes to a better understanding and explanation of the current tensions and conflicts on the European border. The war in Ukraine is not only a military conflict but also the expression of an accumulation of tensions between different mentalities and cultural models.
