An analysis of students’ perception of plagiarism: the case of Alecu Russo Balti State University

Una din problemele stringente ce ține de scrisul academic este plagiatul. Studenții par a nu înțelege gravitatea actului în sine, plagiind ori de câte ori le este greu să își formuleze propriile gân-duri sau nu știu ce exact trebuie să facă. Astfel, ei nu realizează că încalcă normele academice comițând o infracțiune. Articolul prezintă o analiză a percepțiilor față de plagiat ale studenților de la Facultatea de Litere din anul 4 de la Ciclul Licență și anul 1 de la Ciclul Masterat care studiază limba engleză ca limbă principală. Rezultatele indică lipsa de conștientizare a gravității unui asemenea act la studenți. Atitudinea lor pare a fi una superficială față de scrisul academic, iar însăși actul de sfidare a normelor academice pare a fi nesemnificativ pentru studenți.

Training and Assessing Media Education Competence in Professional Training Programs for Teachers

This study argues the necessity of implementation of media literacy education programs in schools by interpreting media literacy in relation to 'communication' and knowledge and information society, which are included in the key competencies of the European Union. In the Romanian educational system, media literacy competence is not aimed in any educational curriculum. Few efforts have been realized in the past ten years, efforts that were initiated by the civil society experts and they have been not yet adapted to the national curriculum. Based on the literature review and on the content analyses of the national curriculum, previous studies contrived media literacy strands and standards including performance objectives and basic teaching and learning contents. By theoretical systemizing media literacy, this study is expected to promote the understandings of media literacy in schools and promote its implementations in the classrooms. Two models of media education programs are presented and analyzed in the aspects of: objectives, curriculum and state of implementation.

Vocational Training and Education in the Library and Information Professions in Switzerland

In Switzerland, one possible path for vocational training in the information and documentation professions is to do an apprenticeship after compulsory school education, to then earn a higher vocational diploma and finally to obtain a bachelor’s degree. This degree is awarded by two universities of applied sciences, which also offer master’s degree programs. Alternatively, bachelor’s and master’s degrees can be obtained after graduating secondary school and going through purely academic training. Professional associations keep developing continuing education and training and offer programs that prepare librarians to cope with their ever-changing environment.

During the vocational education of students, the development of communication skills plays an important role.In the context of globalization, the competence of pragmatic communication in a foreign language is an imperative in the vocational development.This article conceptualizes the competence of pragmatic communication in a foreign language for students in vocational education, which includes three-dimensional aspects: the cognitive aspect/knowledge (Savoir), the praxiological aspect/skills (Savoir faire) and axiological aspect/values and attitudes (Savoir vivre) necessary for the efficient communication in a foreign language in the vocational field. In order to develop this competence, the subject of Applied English Language was included into the curriculum of vocational education (ISCED level 4) in the Republic of Moldova that offers students’ opportunities for professional growth at both national and international level.

Metodologie výzkumu kariérové adaptability

Kariérová adaptabilita je dlouhodobě předmětem výzkumu v zahraničí, ale v českém prostředí dosud zkoumána nebyla. Zvažovali jsme tedy, kde a jak v tématu začít. Rozhodli jsme se postupovat tzv. „od začátku“, a proto jsme se zaměřili na mladé dospělé, kteří začínají řídit svou kariéru nebo se řízení své kariéry začínají učit. S ohledem na český vzdělávací systém bylo zřejmé, že naši skupinu mladých dospělých najdeme mezi budoucími absolventy středního vzdělávání a z hlediska struktury vzdělávacího systému nás naše cíle zavedly do segmentu odborného vzdělávání. V České republice je totiž systém odborného vzdělávání na úrovni vyššího sekundárního vzdělávání celkem pestrý, a navíc jím dlouhodobě prochází přibližně 70 % populace (Průcha, 2019). Z pohledu vývojové psychologie naše zamýšlená skupina respondentů – budoucí absolventi středního odborného vzdělávání – reprezentuje svébytné vývojové období, které je vymezováno jako mladá dospělost či jako tzv. vynořující se dospělost (Lacinová et al., 2016). V této oblasti jsme mohli navázat na dosavadní stav poznání českého základního psychologického výzkumu o vynořující se dospělosti.

Kariérová adaptabilita perspektivou času

Přestože kariérová adaptabilita byla a je hojně zkoumaným konstruktem, pouze nepatrná část výzkumů byla zaměřena na identifikaci změn kariérové adaptability v průběhu času (např. Hirschi, 2009; Negru-Subtirica et al., 2015; Zacher, 2014b, 2015). V tomto ohledu tedy chceme dosavadní poznatky rozšířit a zajímá nás, zdali u žáků odborného vzdělávání dochází po odchodu ze střední školy ke změnám v úrovni celkové kariérové adaptability, dimenzích kariérového zájmu, kontroly, zvídavosti a sebedůvěry, a zdali se dimenze kariérové adaptability proměňují společně nebo jsou mezi nimi rozdíly. Kromě toho chceme zjistit, jestli se případné proměny kariérové adaptability liší u respondentů s různými sociodemografickými, školními a profesními charakteristikami (srov. Johnston et al., 2016). Všechna tato zjištění sumarizujeme v této kapitole.

REGIONÁLNÍ TRH TERCIÁRNÍHO VZDĚLÁVÁNÍ – PŘÍPAD MORAVSKOSLEZSKÉHO KRAJE

The presence of the university in the region can have several effects on the region, especially in the economic sphere. Previous studies have used different methods to quantify these effects. Main effects can be characterized by demand or supply side, direct or indirect. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the development of tertiary education in the Moravian-Silesian Region between the years 2000 and 2016. The analysis shows fact that the number of students has changed significantly over time and the regionalization of universities with headquarter in this region has decreased significantly. At the same time, it was found that a large proportion of students residing in MSK are leaving to study in other regions.

Bilimin Doğasını Anlama ve Uygulama: Fen Öğretmenlerinin Argümantasyona Dayalı Profesyonel Gelişim Deneyimi

This study explores how science teachers’ explicit argumentation instruction influence their nature of science (NOS) understanding and its enactment through a professional development program. The study has a multiple-case study approach with conveniently selected four science teachers. These teachers were from the same school district in the southeast of the United States. Qualitative data were collected through views of nature of science (VNOS) questionnaire and semi-structured interviews to assess the changes in teachers’ views of NOS from the beginning to the end of the study. Teachers’ integration of NOS was examined through classroom observation by taking field notes. The data analysis was conducted through descriptive statistics and constant-comparative method: scores were assigned for the participants’ responses on the VNOS questionnaire, and the frequency of the codes were examined to develop categories and themes. The results presented that four science teachers could not demonstrate substantial changes in their views of NOS; their understandings of the aspects of science were mixed by the end of the study. They showed consistently naive and mixed views, but also there were slight positive or negative changes. For the implementation, science teachers’ use of NOS was different: even though two teachers integrated the characteristics of science explicitly, the other two teachers did not present explicit NOS instruction. The study makes a case for professional development of in-service science teachers. Science teachers should be supported to understand and enact NOS through research-based strategies and explicit NOS instruction approach such as conceptual change framework.

Öğretmen Gözüyle Hizmet içi Eğitim Etkinlikleri

The aim of this study is to examine teachers' views on in-service training activities in depth. Phenomenological design was used in the study within the framework of qualitative research method. The study group of the research consists of 2 school administrator and 8 teachers working in different public schools in the 2022-2023 academic year. The study group of the research was selected using the convenience sampling method. The study group of the research was selected by the easily accessible situation sampling method. In this study, the “semi-structured interview technique”, which is included in the interview method, hiç is one of the data collection methods in qualitative research, was used. The data obtained after the interview with the researchers were analyzed by the content analysis method and the themes were obtained. The codes obtained from the semi-structured interviews were also interpreted within the framework of the themes obtained in line with the purpose of the research. In the research teachers have mainly stated that inservice training activities are useful and should be carried out regularly and periodically in order to adapt to the changes in science and technology in educational implications. As a result of research, it is provided that inservice training activities in order to be effective and efficient, educators, expert in their field, using practical training method and inservice training should take into the consideration the subjects they need.

ERIC İndekste “Eğitim Programları ve Öğretim” ile “Öğretmen Eğitimi” Konusundaki Çalışmaların İncelenmesi

With this study, it is aimed to examine the studies carried out on the curriculum and instruction and teacher education in the ERIC index. The studies were examined in terms of the concepts in which they were defined, the education level at which the study was conducted, the origin of the study, study groups, data collection tools, research type and analysis techniques. Thus, it is aimed that this study will contribute to other studies, researchers and practitioners in the field of curriculum and instruction and teacher education. Document analysis technique was used in the study. The data in this study were obtained from the Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) website. In this context, 26 studies that were reached by using the keywords "Curriculum and Instruction" and "Teacher Education" in the search made in the ERIC search engine were evaluated. Content analysis was used to evaluate the obtained data in detail. In the results of working; the most defined word in the studies was “Foreign Countries”; the education level where most of the researches are conducted is secondary education; Turkey is the country where most of the studies are conducted; the study group from which the most data was obtained in the studies was students and teacher candidates; survey is the most used data collection tool in research; the most preferred type of research in studies is quantitative designs; it was determined that the most applied analysis technique in the studies was content analysis. In order to make the contribution of the study to the field more concrete, suggestions have been developed based on the results of the study.
