The article presents the results of (author’s) own research on the students of early-school education imitation and the rhythmical improvisation in the light of their stabilised musical aptitudes measured with Edwin E. Gordon’s AMMA test and also Edwin E. Gordon’s readiness to rhythm improvisation readiness record (RIRR). In the first part of the research the students imitated some easy rhythm patterns in duple meter and the subsequent part concerned guiding the oral rhythmical dialogue (on the BAH syllable) by the teacher with the application of various easy rhythm patterns in duple meter. The students’ both imitative and improvising performances were rated by three competent judges. What was also undertaken was searching for the relations between musical aptitudes, improvisation readiness and the pupils’ rhythmical imitation and improvisation abilities and also their self -assessment. The scheme of the applied research comprises the quantitative strategy, positivist paradigm with the testing and measure method applying the statistical tests. The theoretical background is the theory of music learning by Edwin E. Gordon. The aim of research is to diagnose the ability to re-produce some short rhythm patterns (motifs) by students of BA studies in the form of imitation and dialogue (improvisation) with the teacher during rhythmic communication (rhythm improvisation) and to identify the relationship between musical aptitudes, readiness for rhythm improvisation and the ability to imitate and improvise rhythmic patterns.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: Previous researches regarding professional fate of alumni were based on surveys. Since 2017 however the monitoring system using joined data from POLon and ZUS on professional careers of graduates is implemented. Since then the data regarding professional fate of alumni is gathered in the reports from the monitoring system of professional careers of graduates (http://www.ela.nauka.gov.pl/). Therefore it was possible to prepare more detail analysis. The aim of this study is to verify the hypothesis on correlation between the faculty chosen and entrepreneurship of the graduates. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: To verify the above mentioned hypothesis it was decided to analyse universities of which more than 10% graduates from years 2014 and 2015were registered as self employed. For the sake of this study the detailed data on individual groups of graduates was elaborated. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The scope of this study are years 2014 (two years after graduation) and 2015 (one year after graduation). In the study the faculties with highest share of self employed and highest absolute number of self employed were taken into consideration. The faculties that are offered by several universities and of which graduates are in significant share self employed were also included in this study. RESEARCH RESULTS: The results of this study allow to come into conclusion that in case of medical faculties the self employment has no correlation with entrepreneurship. It is however a common practise typical for this field of science or pressure from potential employers. From the other hand, in case of economic faculties, the universities are teaching how to be enterprising and giving knowledge allowing to take a decision to become self employed. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: According to the study, in case of the medical faculties it would to be advisable to include in the programmes subjects developing ability to get self employed and run economic activities.

Authenticity currently poses a tremendous challenge for the process of education. The authenticity of being, acting and interpersonal relations seems to be a particularly important subject in the context of the development of methods of communication that favor the possibilities of concealing one’s true self and adopting the desired attitudes or behaviors. The article aims to show the category of authenticity and its complexity in the process of education in the sense of personal and existential pedagogy of Janusz Tarnowski. This category is a particularly important condition for Tarnowski, essential for a pedagogical process, often threatened by the use of unilateral violence. Tarnowski connects the authenticity with the realization of the one and only existence. The authenticity understood in this way includes the following factors: internal depth, intense training and life consistency. Therefore, the authenticity as a pedagogical category is included in the context of the “authentic existence” being at the same time the basis and condition for the existence of a real dialogue in the education.

This contribution highlights the fact that the analysis of intercultural awareness and intercultural sensitivity should not be limited to an intragenerational perspective but should also include an intergenerational one. To put it differently, intercultural awareness, intercultural sensitivity and intercultural communicative competence are developed throughout one’s life and are shaped by various factors, including informal and formal socialization and schooling practices, that in turn influence the development of social capital. The sample related to the data collection was constituted on the basis of five dimensions, and the cultural awareness of Czech students at Czech secondary schools was measured. Items in the semi-structured questionnaire included statements such as, students are allowed to criticize their teachers, the laws apply to everyone (including rich and powerful), conflicts between students and teachers are natural, and your diploma determines your career and success, etc. In the conclusion, data obtained by means of empirical research at several Czech secondary schools are compared to those publicly available regarding the economically active Czech population. The comparative perspective could become the basis of teaching strategies concerning intercultural communication at secondary schools and universities.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study is to present students’ opinions on the value of parenting in their lives. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The main purpose of the research has been defined through the question: What is the value of parenting for the student respondents? A questionnaire-based survey was implemented and the research literature was analysed and synthesized. THE PROCCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: Based on empirical data, the article shows different aspects of parenting: its value expressed by a certain level, students’ opinions on family tasks and roles, contemporary problems and difficulties in parenting, attitudes and opinions on parenting and characteristics of a parent, as well. RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the analysis is to determine the relationship between the traditional Wilhelm von Humboldt model of university and the model functioning in Act 2.0. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The problem is to determine the modern model of the university and its relationship with the traditional model of the university. An analysis of legislative documents and literature will be used to solve the problem. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The article contains characteristics of the traditional university model and an attempt to determine the university model in Act 2.0 along with a comparison of assumptions about science and didactics at the university. Attention was also paid to the growing importance of international scientific research. RESEARCH RESULTS: The W. Humboldt University model, with the freedom of research and teaching, is not reflected in Act 2.0, due to the fact that scientific research is adapted to social needs and economic development. The freedom of teaching is limited by adjusting the education process to the learning outcomes of the Polish Qualifications Framework. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The full traditional model of the university cannot occur in the face of adjusting education in universities to the Bologna Process and the growing importance of international cooperation in research and R&D activities of scholars.

The aim of the article is to show functions of students’ cooperatives’ websites. The subject of study are the websites being run by students’ cooperatives in secondary schools. The article begins by utilizing the qualitative method of textual analysis of the content of these websites. The websites are maintained by thirteen students’ cooperatives that operate in secondary schools. The students’ cooperatives belong to school organizations with more than century of tradition and have well-established working meth- ods. However, new information technologies have changed work and communication opportunities and the school organizations also use the websites for different purposes. Within the analysis of the web- sites being run by students’ cooperatives in the secondary schools, it is clearly discernible how and why the websites vary. The websites serve different functions ranging from the educationally informative to the popular-social. The content concerns the business activity and what it offers, current cooperative’s movement, benefits of being a member of a students’ cooperative, for example organizing free time, networking between young cooperatives and socializing outside of the school, that is visible within increased popularity of websites and the development of their educational dimension. The results lead to the following postulate: in a mediatized reality, stu- dents should be educated and encouraged to make proper and wise use of virtual space, which is a new teaching and educational space that requires proper management by all school entities: teachers, form tutors, students and their parents, including students’ organizations such as student cooperatives.
