Within the results presented in this monograph, the basic method used to analyse the ceramic pastes of stove and floor tiles and small ceramic sculptures was micropetragraphic analysis. This method provides the most important information on the shard – representation of fragments and rocks, firing temperature, surface treatment etc. The second most frequent method is electron microscopy with an energy-dispersive analyser. This method was used with glazed ceramic artefacts to determine the chemical composition of glazes. The other methods mentioned below were applied when a specific technological phenomenon occurred.

One of the most representative commodities of the medieval and modern ceramic production are relief-decorated stove tiles, in which we can follow up the content and symbolism of decoration motifs as an evidence of material and spiritual culture at the time of their origin. From a technological point of view, it is possible to define the development of production procedures, both in the construction of tiles themselves, and in the construction of entire heating devices. However, problems arise when we try to find out how technological novelties and relief motifs have spread among stove builders. Apart from natural scientific analyses, which have long been used to solve this question (e. g. Loskotová–Hložek 2017), we also searched for the possibilities of analysing the relief decoration on tiles from a technological and not from an art historical perspective. For this purpose, we had to document the reliefs in order to obtain exact data, which were not yet provided by the standard methods of archaeological research.

THE MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF THE EPIDEMIC DISEASES INDUCED BY BIOLOGICAL ATTACK WITH CONTAGIOUS AGENTS

The current security context illustrated by the COVID-19 pandemic shows us that we have vulnerabilities, that there are threats and that there will be risks, including biological ones. In the field of BIO defense, it is almost impossible to experiment at the general level. This can only be done on time in the laboratory, in vitro, in vivo and possibly in silico. The calculation methodology for the effects of possible attack with contagious biological warfare agents has certain assumptions and limitations. Considering that the population is homogeneous it results that the isolated groups, to which the infection it does not spread, will show an overestimation. Possible individual variations, particular diseases and asymptomatic cases are not taken into account so either an underestimation or an overestimation occurs. In the mathematical modeling of the epidemic diseases induced by biological attack with contagious agents can use the SEIRP model: Susceptible, Exposed and Infected, Infectious, Removed and Prophylaxis Efficacious Model. The study is important for medical operational planning.

ESTIMATION OF PROBABLE HEALTH LOSSES IN BIOLOGICAL ATTACK WITH NON-CONTAGIOUS AGENTS BY, MATHEMATICAL EPIDEMIOLOGY

In the case of attack with CBRN Weapons of Mass Destruction, the use of biological warfare agents is likely to amplify the effect on the living force, in order to infect, lethal or nonlethal, as many enemy as possible. The military medical service must be able to prevent, diagnose, treat and recover all affected military and the civilian population in the area. Healthlosses must be recovered in their entirety. Mathematical modeling of the epidemic induced by biological attack is useful for planning the forces and means of the military medical service, for medical planning the offensive or defensive operation, logistics and human resources needed for medical support and replacement. The estimates resulting from the calculations according to the formulas recommended in the specific NATO documents allow the optimization of the medical and non-medical countermeasures for the liquidation of theconsequences of the biological attack.

PODPORA VÝSKUMU A VÝVOJA A DOPAD NA EKONOMICKÝ RAST

Research and development is important field of regional economy. Indicators characterizing research and development are also used for evaluation of knowledge and innovation potential. The aim of this article is to help establish a correlation analysis of the interdependence between the growth of spending on research and development and economic growth as measured by gross domestic product in various regions of Slovakia. We examined whether the research and development support in the form of expenditure affected the economic growth of Slovak regions at NUTS III level. Data were obtained from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic for the period 2002 to 2015. The results showed regional differences. In some regions, the correlation was high, some low. High correlation proved particularly Bratislava region and Košice region. From the results obtained, however, we cannot unambiguously conclude that the promotion of research and development has no positive impact on the economic development of the regions where it was reported a low correlation.

The aim of the study is to present the results of a questionnaire survey mapping the application of the flipped classroom method in university education in Slovakia. The questions of the questionnaire used in the research on the one hand research to what extent the flipped classroom method is known and applied in the practice of university education, and on the other hand to find out what the experiences and feedback of the lecturers during the implementation of the method.

The article deals with the level organization of the semantic structure of words in the aspect of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The knowledge of lexical semantics, in the author's opinion, can be represented in three levels: denotative, systemic and conceptual, which not only reflects the levels of linguistic cognitive development of the word, but also helps the organization of vocabulary for the purpose of teaching it, including teaching Russian language for Slavic students. It is demonstrated in Article on the material of Russian and Czech languages. Possession of a certain level of word semantics characterizes the level of possession of Russian as a foreign language in general.

CONSIDERAȚII PRIVIND OCURENȚA ACTULUI DE LIMBAJ AL SCUZEI ÎN MANUALELE DE LIMBA ROMÂNĂ CA LIMBĂ STRĂINĂ DE STUDIU

The field of research in which this study falls is that of “sociocultural pragmatics”, which focuses on the influence of external factors (social and cultural) on the formulation and interpretation of linguistic forms. We opted for the speech act of apology, given the role that expressive speech acts have in the dynamics of interpersonal relationships. The need to investigate the speech act of the apology is given by its role in restoring the imbalance that can occur in human interaction, the apology being the means that can determine the “saving” of interactions and relationships between interlocutors. The corpus of the research is extracted from several textbooks of RFL as the pragmatic trend has been very successful in teaching foreign languages, the notion of speech act being present in the textbooks, and the communicative approach representing a sine qua non condition for learning a language foreign. The theoretical approach is based on the theory of speech acts of the American philosophers Austin and Searle and the verbal interaction studies of the French linguist Kerbrat-Orecchioni.

In a number of regions of the Republic of Bulgaria, especially in rural areas, agribusiness is the main area of employment for the local population. All ethnic groups, without exception, have free, constitutional access to the labor market in this industry. The qualification of the Roma ethnic group to the vulnerable groups also puts on the agenda the issue of use, application and broad awareness of the legislative opportunities that are provided to all ethnic groups for employment in agribusiness, in various forms, which is also a right of choice. At this stage, the legal toolkit enabling the persons from the Roma ethnic group to participate in active employment in agribusiness, which would also increase their quality of life, has not been sufficiently evaluated.

Hrvatsko-slavonska vojna krajina u novijoj historiografiji: dva desetljeća istraživanja i otvorenih pitanja

Recent historiography about the Military border – i.e. research that was conducted from the beginning of 1990s’– embraced various topics within domestic and international projects. Scholars investigated topics such as military communities, ecclesiastical union, environmental history of multi-border territories, questions regarding identity of borderline communities, influence of enlightenment processes to the education of military officers in the Monarchy, as well as tolerance and intolerance in the broader South Eastern European region. Although these topics and questions were analyzed from various perspectives, recent syntheses of Croatian history and few scientific articles on history of Military border still incude some unreliable stereotypes of nineteenth century historiography. Among these stereotypes one can emphasize interpretations of immigration and ethnical background of the Orthodox borderers, questions regarding historical background and affiliation of the borderline territories, and religious policy of Vienna court regarding the Military border. Moreover, the author concludes that the recent historiography lacks an interest regarding the investigation of military aspects of Military border history.

The English Department offers Bachelor and Master degree programmes. The graduates of these are qualified teachers of English at lower secondary schools. In the second year of the Bachelor programme (single-subject study plan), the students are required to participate in an Integrated Language and Methodology Course, which is based on experiential learning principles. Students in the other study programmes and study plans can take the course as optional. The course presents a reasonable intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social challenge. The participants have an opportunity of developing their communicative competence in English and teaching competences as well as their personalities. The course takes place in Dům Ignáce Stuchlého at Fryšták (the Zlín Region), a building offering accommodation, catering, and suitable number of well-equipped classrooms.

Research Innovations in Post COVID Environments

The presentation examines what it takes to transform the research process to find innovative solutions for sustainable living in post-Covid 19 environments. The concern of this presentation is that current research inadequately addresses the multidimensionality of both individual and society's concerns in a post COVID environment. The presentation is an answer to why research thus far has not provided adequate responses to society's challenges for simultaneously delivering health, well being, and economic prosperity at the individual and society levels. The researcher's challenge is to provide a way forward to deliver simultaneously of quality of sustainable living related to individual concern for healthy living and for providing broadly defined social welfare. The three-part presentation comprises (1) identifying the need for transforming the research process, (2) Advocating the use of the Systemic Innovation Capability model for determining the importance of strategic intent and need for leadership to deliver a shift in the research process, and (3) the changes required for transforming the university research processes. The presentation will conclude by advocating for developing initiatives for promoting a research culture for promoting sustainable growth mindsets amongst researchers.

Publishing is a creative industry that contributes significantly to the GDP and employment of most countries around the world. In spite of its economic, social and cultural importance, this industry still lacks authoritative systematic information to allow an adequate assessment of its place and role. There are various sources of data and statistics that form a partial picture of the economic performance of the publishing industry. This paper reviews the key data sources and analyses some of the methodological relating to the use of this information in a coherent way. Significant national and international efforts are needed to improve the data sourcing of the publishing industry. This industry can defend its role and interests much better with appropriate information and analysis. This paper analyses the challenges in this area from a global perspective.

Application of Cyber Intelligence for Security Operation Center

Ensuring practical cyber intelligence for a Security Operation Center (SOC) involves collecting, analyzing, and utilizing information about cyber threats to enhance the organization's security posture. This encompasses the gathering and analysis of data on potential and active cyber threats, including Indicators of Compromise (IoCs)" which refer to signs that a security breach may have occurred, while "Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)" refer to the methods and behaviours used by an attacker to carry out a cyber attack and utilized by threat actors. Additionally, it entails the use of advanced tools to monitor networks, systems, and applications for suspicious activities, such as the utilization of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS). Furthermore, it involves developing and implementing plans to respond to security incidents, including identifying, containing, eradicating, and recovering from cyber-attacks. Regularly scanning systems for vulnerabilities and applying patches or mitigations to reduce the attack surface are also crucial components of cyber intelligence in the SOC. Lastly, monitoring and analyzing user and entity behaviour to detect anomalies that could indicate insider threats or compromised accounts is another significant aspect of effectively integrating cyber intelligence into SOC operations.

Spectral Analysis the Wave Signal of Electronic Sphygmomanometer

The wave signal of electronic sphygmomanometer, recorded in personal computer provides whole information for the wave character of the artery blood flow. The corresponding function can be processed by discrete Fourier transformation described by a mathematic method in the paper. The algorithm consists of reducing the digital function to an acceptable size, discrete Fourier transformation and its graphic presentation. The frequency response covers wide range of the human spectrum and bears specific wave picks at given human frequency components. On their base, a general issue is formulated and suggested.

It shows the results of the bibliometric analysis of a set of scientific publications on the issues concerning the relationship between climate change and the number and intensity of forest fires indexed in Scopus. The main analysed indicators are the number of publications on the topic and their dynamics over time, publication activity of the authors, scientific institutions – authors affiliations, number of citations of the publications, and keywords used.
