Bezrobocie długotrwałe osób starszych w województwie lubuskim

Long-term unemployment is considered one of the most serious problems of the contemporary labor market. Economists see it as a source of serious depreciation of human resources in the labor market and the pauperization of the affected families. Changing the age structure of labor resources and the projected reduction of their size in Poland, have resulted in increased interest in working activity of older people. The analysis of data from recent years points to an increasing level of professional involvement of this group, but also reveals that older people are more likely to experience long-term unemployment. The article aims to describe the size and structure of long-term unemployment of older people in Lubuskie labor market and identify the factors determining the risk of this type of unemployment. Also analyzed are solutions directed at supporting the employment of this social group.

A high level of public participation is a much desired state of affairs as it entails numerous benefits for the participants of the political system. Citizens gain access to legislative procedures, can express their opinions often backed by expert knowledge, have a sense of co-responsibility for the ongoing developments,etc. The authorities, in turn, without any serious weakening of their monopoly on decisions, gain access to, among others, expert knowledge, the possibility to build a broader social consensus around their actions and in this way avoid the danger of political turbulence in the form of mass protests. The problem, however, lies in the fact that such participation both at the EU and domestic level is far below the desired degree – for very different reasons citizens do not join in those processes. This inadequacy has in a way forced decision-making centers to undertake various initiatives aimed at improving the state of things. The article is anattempt to answer the question: which of the remarks and conclusions related to the introduction of twoessential mechanisms of participation at the EU’s supranational level can be implemented into the state system of the Republic of Poland.

Football hooliganism in the countries of the Visegrád Group: cooperation and confrontation

The article deals with the description of football hooligans in the countries of Visegrad Group (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary). Text describes history of this phenomenon in the central Europe in the context of European Football Championships of 2012 and 2016. Particular hooligans’ groups, the basic characteristics, relations and manifestations of these groups are briefly presented. In the final part there are outlined particular actors participating in tackling with football hooligans, including legislative procedures stemming from European Convention. In the conclusion itself there is discussed also police’ cooperation during big football championships.

Life is a battlefield: Conceptualizations of life among Hungarian Adults

This study attempts to investigate how Hungarians think about life. By applying a nationwide representative survey of Hungarian adults, we wished to answer the following two research questions: a) what are the major metaphorical conceptualizations of life among Hungarians?; and b) what factors, such as socio-economic status and basic value orientations, might influence the prevalence for the metaphors used to talk about life? Our results suggest that there are considerable generational differences: while the negative mindset (in the form of more negative metaphors) is still common within the older generation, there is a shift towards a more positive and more “American” conceptualization of life among younger people in Hungary.

The challenges and demographic prospects of European countries

The aim of the article is to indicate selected demographic processes, their consequences and how they will have a major future impact on the functioning of the European countries. The importance of individual countries is directly connected to their demographic potential, the size of which has been changing rapidly in recent years. A proper identification of the existing demographic problems requires the use of appropriate cognitive tools for their description. To explain the ongoing contemporary demographic processes the author applied not only traditional demographic measures, but also other less frequently used approaches among other methods of potential demography. Comparing different European countries highlights the differences in terms of their potential ability to reproduce, the age dependency ratio or advanced aging populations. The author proposed a measure which may be a reference point in determining the statutory retirement age. Current demographic projections indicate unfavorable demographic prospects for many European countries and for Europe in general.

In Slovakia, the topic of Duchenne muscular dystrophy from the viewpoint of the parents is insufficiently reflected in research. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is rare nerve – muscular disease, which affects only boys. Disease influence the whole family life. The aim of the authors' study was to find out and describe the life reality of families with a member who suffers from this disease. The authors used the qualitative research and technique of focus groups (total no. of focus groups = 3). The research sample were parents of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (n = 26, 16 women, 10 men). According to research results four situations with which the parents of these children meet in everyday reality are clear. Situations can be divided into two groups: situations inside the family (acceptance of the diagnosis, changes in the family life, care for carers) and situations outside the family (parents versus services and utilities).

A 2018-as szlovákiai magyar identitáskutatás elsődleges eredményei

The joint survey of the Forum Minority Research Institute (Šamorín, Slovakia) and the National Policy Research Institute (Budapest, Hungary) was carried out in the summer of 2018 in 16 districts and 120 municipalities of Southern Slovakia, including the cities of Bratislava and Košice. The sample was constituted of 800 Hungarian adults in Slovakia. The quota is representative from the point of view of the proportion of inhabitants belonging to the Hungarian ethnic minority and living in Southern Slovakia´s mixed districts; and of gender, age group, school graduation level, and the type of municipality they reside in. The subject of the survey was the state of national identity and its changes compared to earlier time periods. The primary results presented here concern the following aspects: quality of life, current attitude toward public issues, national value system, national identity, language arrangements, language regime, language use.

The aim of study was to find out the character of the youth’ interaction with computer games. The methods of study were a questionnaire; the random stratified selection of respondents; the MS Excel; descriptive statistics; and the tests of hypotheses. The study highlights the results that playing computer games within the shorter interval is already restricting young people in their social sphere and the acquirement of social workers’ ICT competence.

At present, homelessness is a contemporary and ongoing social pheno-menon. In this context, it is in many cases often accompanied by alcohol and/or drug dependence or a combination of addictions with other mental illnesses. Nevertheless, it can be perceived by the homeless themselves as a certain strategy for surviving on the streets. This paper analyzes the presence and extent of dependence among homeless people using existing low-threshold social services in the city of Trenčín, Slovakia.

Похищение невесты — обычай или вызов времени?

The reasons for the custom of bride kidnapping in the North Caucasus are investigated. The analysis of statistical indicators of the number of kidnappings, the number of criminal cases, the unemployment rate, the dynamics of per capita income in the region. There are three main reasons for the bride’s abduction: lack of time or desire for courtship; lack of money for redemption and holding a wedding celebration; the inability to obtain consent to the marriage of the bride’s relatives. The authors pay special attention to the socio-economic reasons that characterize the standard of living in the North Caucasus region. The results of sociological research show that the vast majority of abductions lead to extremely negative consequences — unhappy marriages, broken families, broken lives, a vendetta, murder and suicide, etc. To prevent this it is necessary to make use of complex approach: from crime prevention to criminal prosecution.

Relationship between Organizational Improvisation and Organizational Creativity under Multiple Regression Analysis

With the development of technology, the external competitive environment is increasingly dynamic and complicated. If enterprises want to continue to develop, it is necessary to improve their own innovation capabilities continuously, which is crucial for enterprises to gain competitive advantage and improve performance. In order to answer the organizational improvisation and under what organizational conditions to drive organizational creativity, this paper makes assumptions about the relationship among organizational creativity, improvisation ability, organizational modularity and time pressure based on the existing theoretical review, and this paper establishes a four-part relationship model. Starting from the theory of organizational creation, this paper examines the impact of organizational improvisation on organizational creativity, how learning context (experience learning) and modular context (organizational modularity) affect the relationship between organizational improvisation and organizational creativity. This paper selects 313 enterprise data as the object to conduct questionnaire survey, uses multiple regression analysis method, and adds the intermediary variable improvisation ability and adjustment variable time pressure. This paper empirically tests the effects of two variables in organizational creativity and strategic change through a large sample survey, using multiple regression models for empirical testing. The results of the study indicate that organizational improvisation is positively affecting organizational creativity. Empirical learning positively regulates the relationship between organizational improvisation and organizational creativity, while organizational modularity negatively regulates the relationship between organizational improvisation and organizational creativity.
