Lietuvos gyventojų ekonominis stresas ir nepriteklius socialinės ekonominės nelygybės perspektyvoje
Many authors investigating the quality of life have recently begun to examine economic stress to help promoting legitimate, effective and ethical public administration solutions. It is argued that economic stress has a negative impact on society’s well-being, thereby creating direct and indirect losses to the state. This study is aimed at identifying the economic difficulties of residents of Lithuania, as well as the economic stress in different income groups. This paper presents some results of the survey, which was conducted in 2016 in Lithuania (n=1001). The results showed that the vast majority (about 40 percent) of Lithuanian households experience economic difficulties and a significant lack of money. The results revealed statistically significant economic hardship and economic stress differences in different income quintile groups and different subjective socio-economic status groups. Authors indicate that additional research is needed.
