Interview with Julia Voznesenskaya 1940 – 2015 At the end of 1978, news came from the Soviet Union that the secret police of the Kremlin bureaucracy, KGB, had smashed a commune in Leningrad and arrested several young activists. They were part of a group calling themselves "Left Opposition". On December 5, 1978, about 200 students and students demonstrated outside the Kazan Cathedral to protest these arrests. Radicalized by their opposition to the oppressive effects of Stalinist bureaucratic rule, which extended across all areas of their lives, these young people developed a series of leftist political perspectives - Marxism, anarchism, and various "New Left" thinkers from over there. Most information about these ideas is only available in Samizdatform. The following interview was conducted with one of these activists from Leningrad, who was forced to emigrate. UNGARN: Wir sind einer kulturelle Opposition

A little-known and in the West probably not in the usual sense acclaimed and celebrated - because "untypical" - Dissident from the (in spite of all) atypical Eastern Bloc Hungary is György Dalos. Recently he published, after some unsuccessful attempts at Hungarian publishers, some poems and prose pieces at the Rotbuch publishing house in West Berlin: "My situation in the situation". A booklet that ironically criticizes the given situation of the real in Hungary - not without leaving a bitter aftertaste, but which should eventually lead to thinking through and thinking ahead. Some things are also known to us in the "free" West, when the laughter sticks in the throat: the resistance against normalized ways of thinking and turmoil against predetermined and "proven" ways of thinking, rebellion against deadlocked language structures. On the occasion of a stay in Vienna, we had the opportunity to talk to György Dalos about the situation and perspectives of the opposition in Hungary.

Obviously, it should also be enriched with contributions from Western opposition and western leftists. The development of a discussion based on these texts will signal a step forward in the development of a comprehensive understanding of human rights. The first contribution by Petr Uhl is an excerpt from an unpublished book written by Uhl and several other comrades. The first part of this paper was a fundamental analysis of the character of Eastern European societies, which we already published in the Zero Number of the "GEGENSTIMMEN". The second part deals now with the emergence and political significance of the Charter 77.

UNGARN: Wenn einer keine Reise tut, da kann er was erleben

The following legal discussions on the system of assigning passports for trips to non-socialist countries were written by Budapest-born mathematician György Krassó who, for more than twelve years, has been trying in vain to obtain a "blue passport". The assignment of the "red" passport - for the CMEA countries - works in generally the same way, only in practice it is faster, at least for non-dissidents. Krassó himself has no passport any longer. In August, he had been deprived by Hungarian border police of his hitherto valid “red” passport when he crossed the Czechoslovak-Hungarian border near Komarno and had already entered czechoslovak territory. Krassó then reported the Hungarian border officials for "invading foreign territory." The procedure is running.
