EMANCIPOVANO OBRAZOVANJE – OBRAZOVANJE KAO EMANCIPACIJA

The paper thematize the relationship between education and emancipation, deviating from the usual question of the scope of education in the function of this or that emancipatory goal, and asks about the meaning and possibility of ‘emancipated education’. The first part of the paper presents the notion of emancipation in the historical perspective of his idea and his social status and expresses doubts about the possibility of its unambiguous grasping. Drawing on Lyotard’s critique of the ‘ meta-narrative of emancipation,’ the second part of the paper examines discursive viability and the more or less fatal practical consequences of the ‘will to emancipate.’ The final elaboration outlines the vision of a cardinally emancipated education and calculates the potential advantages and dangers that arise from such a radical autonomy. It is concluded that only fully emancipated education, seemingly paradoxically, can not only cease to be an instrument of various emancipation projects, but also to become a very practice of emancipation.

PLATONOVA ESTETIČKA PAIDEIA

The author examines the role of the phenomenon of art and beauty in Plato’s theory of education. In the introductory part, the main thesis of the work is explained bearing in mind possible difficulties that such a thesis implies. In the second chapter, the author examines the role of art in the educational process with a focus on Plato’s so-called epistemological argument. Then, in the next chapter, the artistic expression of Plato itself is analyzed, which further reinforces the argumentation in favor of the thesis about Plato’s positive appropriation of art for educational purposes. Finally, in the last chapter, the author gives an interpretation of Plato’s idea of beauty and focuses a certain parallelism between wonderment as the beginning of philosophy and the experience of beauty.

MIT UNIWERSALNEJ BIBLIOTEKI I IDEA DEFINITYWNEJ KSIĄŻKI: KONTEKSTY I KONTROWERSJE

The article is aimed at describing two examples of man’s dream about totality. In the introduction,the author considers the concept of a universal library and definitive book. The first part includes ananalysis of various existential conceptions of total library, and first of all, Borgesian, presented in hisfamous text “Library of Babel” as well as his concept of Aleph as a universal point with its access tothe whole reality. Also, the catastrophic idea of a universal library created by Kurt Lasswitz is present-ed. The second part of the article is devoted to the concept of a definitive book. Here the famous textwritten by Borges “The Book of Sand” is considered. Besides the author presents the idea of univer-sality included in the Enlightenment encyclopedias as well as the scientific Biblia project developedby Novalis. In the last part of the article, a comparison is made between the physical library and thevirtual library.

ČEMU PREKRAJANJE ISTORIJE SRPSKE FILOZOFIJE?

Prvi utisak koji bi neupućeni čitalac mogao da stekne kada uzme u ruke drugo, dopunjeno izdanje Istorije srpske filozofije Slobodana Žunjića (Beograd: Zavod za udžbenike, 2014) jeste da je reč o ozbiljnom naučnom i stručnom delu: ova obimna, luksuzno opremljena knjiga, objavljena je u ediciji prestižnog izdavača i, kako se može pročitati na poleđini korica, preporučena je od strane akademika Danila N. Baste (ujedno i jedinog recenzenta) kao delo u kojem je istorija naše filozofije „prikazana sveobuhvatno, znalački, jasno, informativno i pouzdano“. Na žalost, svako ko se strpljivo upusti u čitanje Žunjićeve knjige lako će se uveriti u to koliko je ovaj prvi utisak pogrešan, a izrečena Bastina pohvala najblaže rečeno neosnovana i neodmerena. Luksuzna oprema, obim i prividno naučna forma izlaganja su tu samo da „zasene prostotu“, jer pred sobom u stvari imamo jedan hipertrofiran spis koji je prepun prividne akribičnosti, netačnih podataka, proizvoljnih interpretacija i pristrasnih ocena, a u završnoj, sedmoj glavi posvećenoj savremenoj srpskoj filozofiji, prerasta u otvoren pamfletski obračun sa svim živim srpskim filozofima koji ne dele autorovo oduševljenje za hajdegerovski inspirisanu „veliku filozofiju“.

ISTORIJA FILOZOFIJE BEZ FILOZOFIJE

Svako ko i ovlaš pregleda poslednju, XVIII glavu knjige Istorija srpske filozofije Slobodana Žunjića (2014, Beograd: Zavod za izdavanje udžbenika), koja nosi naslov „Srpska filozofija na kraju XX veka“, biće prilično zbunjen. Pravi sadržaj jedne istorije filozofije trebalo bi da bude filozofija. Međutim, u celom tom poglavlju ne može se naći ni jedan jedini pasus koji ima makar minimalne karakteristike filozofske proze. Posebno kada se govori o radu sadašnjih članova Odeljenja za filozofiju Filozofskog fakulteta u Beogradu, tekst je prepun negativnih kvalifikacija bez ikakvog pokrića. Kada je u pitanju filozofija koju Žunjić zastupa a koja je, prema njegovom mišljenju, napuštena od strane sadašnjih članova Odeljenja za filozofiju, onda je jedino što se o njoj može saznati opisano skupom pohvalnih a ničim obrazloženih atributa. Ona je „velika”, „duboka”, „široka” i „umna”, a filozofi koji se njome bave su „giganti” i „velikani”. Kada je reč o drugima, a naročito nastavnicima Odeljenja za filozofiju, oni su „miševi”, „patuljasti”, „takozvani”, „ćepenački”, bave se trivijalnostima i sl. Oni su se „ustoličili” na talasu „srpske kontrarevolucije”, „spretno” su se „udenuli u vakum”, pripadaju „pozadinskoj” i „marginalnoj” struji, „trećerazredni” su i sl.

ODGOVOR NA PITANJE: KAKO JE MOGUĆA PROSVEĆENOST?

The author analyzes the key terms of Kant's definition of enlightenment: immaturity, guilt, humanity, laziness, cowardice, bravery, and others. The first part of the paper presents the criticisms that challenge every reasonable character of Kant's conception of enlightenment. After that, these critiques are confronted with the defenses of Kant's definition of enlightenment that points out, on the one hand, its self-reflectivity and, on the other, its everlasting actuality. Special attention is paid to the historical and textual reconstruction of the understanding of public as a condition of the possibilities for the effective engagement of the mind and the rational organization of society. It is concluded that the question of enlightenment remains open, to the extent that the danger of arbitrary use under a completely vague semantic rules threatening the very notion of enlightenment. Continuous reinterpretations of Kant's attempt to define it, however, are also testimonies of an unavoidable instance, with respect to which – by recognition of its relevance, its rearranging or rejection – different conceptions of enlightenment and its landmarks were tempted, articulated and established.

Education for Responsible Freedom in the Teaching of Karol Wojtyła – John Paul II

The performed analyses make it possible to see in responsible freedom, the axiological category and the basic attributes of human existence in its relation to the essence of education, the mature humanity of a person and the present day. They indicate the unquestionable value of the message of Karol Wojtyła -John Paul II, in this regard.

COMPARISON AND REFLECTION OF SELECTED PHILOSOPHICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL THOUGHTS OF JÁN PATOČKA AND PAOLO FREIRE'S PEDAGOGICAL THOUGHTS

The topic and task of the presented theoretical study is to bring closer the philosophical-pedagogical ideas of Ján Patočka and the pedagogical ideas of Paolo Freire. As a goal, we chose the intersection of the philosophical-pedagogical ideas of Ján Patočka and Paolo Freire and the latent legacy of the philosophical-pedagogical ideas of Ján Patočka and Paolo Freire. We could document this goal using the historiographic method and the method of philosophizing. Based on the established research question VO1: What is the legacy of the philosophical-pedagogical ideas of Ján Patočka and Paolo Freire for the work of the contemporary teacher and his educational environment? - we discover that in the thinking of Ján Patočka and Paolo Freire, there is an intersection in the field of interest. Both Ján Patočka and Paolo Freire highlight the essence of value - freedom in the educational environment, the presence of which has an impact on the complex educational system and indeed shapes the teacher's approach to grasping knowledge, the teacher's approach to students, the creation of interpersonal relationships, the way information is transmitted and, ultimately, the environment, in which it is situated. Ján Patočka and Paolo Freire highlight the essence of grasping knowledge based on personal experience. At the same time, Paolo Freire perceives this ability as a tool for liberation and activation in the direction of creating personal and social history, and Ján Patočka perceives it as the result of a person's soul shaped by his philosophy.

The presented study presents the approach of the philosopher of phenomenology and ontology - Edmund Husserl. The subject is an attempt to point out the transition of thinking from the descrip- tion of the existing to the present in Husserl. Subsequently, we discuss Husserl and his approach to the term phenomenon, which, as the founder of phenomenology, is devoted to its investigation. We gradually address the topic of other important concepts such as intentionality, intersubjectivity, pairing, analogical apperception and "Lebenswelt".

K otázke poznávania v kontexte historických prameňov filozofie výchovy

The aim of the presented article is to provide the reader with an overview theoretical study that discusses the historical sources of knowledge from the point of view of philosophy and philosophy of education. To achieve this goal, the study uses the works and approaches of key representatives of philosophy and pedagogy from antiquity, the Middle Ages and modern times. The study deals with their opinions and attitudes towards selected issues through the method of analysis, comparison and then synthesis, which ensures the added value of the work. The information resulting from the comparison PEDAGOGIKA.SK, ročník 13, 2023, číslo 1 17 and subsequent synthesis of the individual educational attitudes of the selected authors brings and admits several conclusions that refute certain dogmatic generalizations in this area of philosophy and philosophy of education.

CAUSAL RETURNS TO SCHOOLING AND INDIVIDUAL HETEROGENEITY

In this paper, human capital investments are evaluated by assuming heterogeneous returns to schooling. We use the potential outcome approach to measure the causal effect of human capital investments on earnings as a continuous treatment effect. Empirical evidence is based on a sample of West German full-time employed males (BIBB/IAB survey on educational and vocational attainment and career 1998/99). Our estimate of the average partial effect (APE) of an additional year of schooling amounts to 8.7%, which is higher than OLS estimates and quite similar to conventional instrumental variable estimates.

LA NOBILITÀ DEGLI STUDI. PADOVA FRA DIPLOMAZIA, CULTURA E RELIGIONE

The paduan noble ideology looked with interest in higher education both for the possibilities of em- ploying nobles as lector and for the rich «propinae» derived from the degrees in the Sacred Colleges. The city encompassed, however, an extensive educational system with a prestigious Jesuit college and a military academy. Even the venetian patriciate developed the University according to careful cultural policies: state financing, engagement of famous professors and social control of the city. Religious, economic and cultural ties made the mobility of Polish nobles students to Italy particularly appreci- ated. The letters of an illustrious student, such as chancellor Jan Zamoyski, testify to the persistence over time of the ties also in terms of the history of European culture and the formation of its élites. The creation of flexible commissions for the granting of academic degrees encouraged these relationships.

Rise of the Acrobat Teacher

It is usually thought that most Albanian youth do not read at all. And yet, Albanian youth today read much more than yesterday, today’s youth is an animal lectorem, an animal that reads. This relationship with reading is also manifested in the education system, where it is deeply influenced by the principles of modernity, where the degree has a relative and conditional value. In these conditions, when on the one hand the differentiation produced by the education system does not absolutely guarantee the career of the young person in the labour market and when on the other hand young people massively prefer informative reading to the meaningful one, the teacher is under tremendous pressure to become “acrobat”. This is a metaphor that conveys the reality of today’s teacher in postmodernism, which we must use to compensate the lack of due reflection and conceptualisation on this phenomenon. But how and why did we get to this point when teachers are asked to be acrobats?

In this paper we have looked at some of the fundamental issues in computer ethics and the characteristics and specific problems of its constitution as a discipline. One of the important issues we have analysed is the problem of access (methods) to a number of new phenomena that have emerged as a result of the wider application of computer technology. Among other things, we pointed out the need to respect the ethical heritage and approach – as a basis for a better understanding of the many problems that this technology has created. In the second part of the paper, we looked at issues such as privacy protection, moral dignity, discrimination, hacking, property rights and the impact of computer technology on modern education.

»Kritičko« mišljenje i drugost uma

Das Ziel dieses Textes ist, die Aufmerksamkeit auf einige Voraussetzungen, die als wichtig für besseres Verständnis des Denkens scheinen, das zusätzlich als „kritisches“ bezeichnet wird, zu richten. Zuerst wird einleitend konstatiert, dass die Rede vom „kritischen“ Denken im Kontext der Ausbildung aufgetreten ist, und es wird daran erinnert, dass „Kritisches“ ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des Denkens überhaupt ist. Deshalb werden verschiedene Vernunfttypen vorgestellt, aus denen sich verschiedene Rationalitäts- und Denktypen entwickeln. Dabei wird an zeitgenössische Kritik an der Absolutierung der westlichen dihairetischen Rationalität erinnert, wonach es gezeigt wird, wie sich aus der Einheit der Vernunft die Pluralität von Rationalitäten entwickelt hat. Im folgenden Abschnitt wird die ursprüngliche Vernunft als Einheit von Logos und Mythos dargestellt, fortgesetzt von der Thematisierung dessen, was aus der Perspektive der dihairetischen Rationalität nicht als der Vernunft Zugehöriges anerkannt wird – das Andere der Vernunft. Darauf folgt die Darstellung der Anerkennungsmöglichkeit der Rationalität des Anderen der Vernunft, welche sich in der Metapher und der analogischen Rationalität zeigt. Nächstes Kapitel diskutiert einige Folgemanifestierungen der dihairetischen Rationalität und mit diesen Folgen verbundene Schwierigkeiten in Bezug auf Voraussetzungen der Fähigkeitsentwicklung des kritischen Denkens. Zum Schluss werden einige Bedingungen für kritisches Denken dargestellt.

Momčilo Selesković i rasprava o jeziku

Lemmatic, often implicit, but sometimes also explicit adoption of the thesis that language should be developing naturally was a part of the question of creating united language politics in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Our paper is motivated by this question and focuses on the Momčilo Selesković's philosophy as one of our interwar thinkers who not only thematically approach the dispute on the origin and the development of language but recognizes the utmost philosophical dignity of this dispute. Reconsidering Selesković's philosophy of language in the light of Herder's, and Wilhelm von Humboldt's, as well as Aristotle's and Nietzsche's conception, the author tries to demonstrate that Selesković's thesis about the artificiality of language should not be interpreted simply as the acceptance of just one side within old dispute between adherents of the linguistic naturalism and the linguistic conventionalism. That thesis in his philosophy of language tends to encourage the reflection of the humanistic, libertarian essence of the language, and delegitimization of the conceptions which claim that language is something transcendent. Selesković is trying to show that by developing his doctrine of language as a set of symbols, as well as the specific critique of language insisting that it is uninventive. On the other hand, his considerations of different European nations' linguistic paradigm forming are related in the paper to the interwar Yugoslav linguistic perspectives more directly.
