The paper focuses on the three levels of involvement in music: creating, performing and listening to music. Feeling tends to be related to the process of creation and performance, while sensory perception applies to listening to music. In the article, the author attempts to describe the professional and personal emotions of three subjects who are involved in music: a composer, a performing musician and an audience member. The analyses spring from the author’s own research on narrative interviews and existing biographies. The author presents a variety of methods of utilizing the emotionalism of classical music, and indicates the technical elements of a performance to elicit emotions from a composition. Finally, the author depicts one of the most emotional kinds of classical music – the salon music.

This paper proposed an extreme value approach to estimate the exchange rates volatility. We analyzed exchange rates of USD/EUR. We applied three models, one is the Block Maxima Method based on Fisher-Tippet theorem and the other is the Peaks over Threshold (POT) Model which models the observed values exceeding a large threshold. The third model is the classical model based on assumption about normal distribution of exchange rates returns. In the first method is important to choose the number of blocks which we made by using graphical methods. In the second method is important to find suitable threshold. The tool is the plot of the sample mean excess function and QQ-plot. The most appropriate model was found by goodness of fit tests, choosing the highest value of the test. Using these three methods we calculated high quantiles of exchange rates and compared results.

This essay is conceived to reaffirmed Kant’s moral philosophy, by showing that such a system of ethics has not become outmoded by postmodern ethical currents, but that its importance is more likely to lie in the fact that it can be properly allocated. The first postulate is demonstrated in this work through a correlation of Kant’s moral, and subsequently practical, philosophy with the philosophical aspects of contemporary human rights issues. The ultimate demand of human rights ideology for universal acceptance and affirmation was argued in a philosophico-ethical manner through Kant’s moral and practical philosophy. Furthermore, there emerges, through the affirmation of the human rights ethic as the duty to act in terms of global concern for humanity, the possibility of an approximation to the ideal of the cosmopolitan society and the affirmation of the particular human rights culture, which could then compensate for the limited scope of the developing legal and political mechanisms designed to implement human rights. Within this work, Kant’s moral philosophy has been used in support of the universality of human rights and to help isolate a separate and autonomous human rights ethic. Rationality thus proves to be the main factor that may bring about global cohesion around the acceptance of human rights. The basic elements of human rights ideology (freedom, dignity, tolerance, and equal, inalienable, inseparable rights conferred by the sole fact of being a member of humanity) have found their common place in the fact of human rationality and the notion of humanity derived from it, explicated in terms of Kant’s moral and practical philosophy.

The emergence of oftentimes violent neo-Nazi groups in this country is just one of the many changes that have occurred in Czech society following the Velvet Revolution in 1989. Aggressive behavior in and of itself has also become more frequent here. Sociologist Alena Vodáková partly attributes these rising levels of violence to greater freedoms enjoyed by Czechs in comparison with the suppressive tendencies of the former totalitarian regime. Like the aforementioned article by Jan Urban, Vodáková’s essay demonstrates the difficulties and insecurities facing Czechs as they continue to abandon the rigid certainties of the past and struggle to create a responsible, civic society.

The paper attempts to establish the position of useful and specialist texts in the general classification system of texts. Technical literature notes a distinct typological chaos, resulting above all from the fact that there are no clear classification criteria. The study uses first of all the criterion of genre, also non-linguistic criterion – the communication function of a given text. Making the position of the categories of texts is supposed to help translators in a selection of strategies adjusted to the type of text, and at the same time appropriate linguistic means which will enable them to preserve equivalence respective to a given text.

This small study conducted by an experienced First aid instructor and science educator sought to establish a baseline pilot study of what actions were observed and identified as injuries and subsequent first aid. A class of 29 four-year-old children were shown 8 nine inch tall Teddy Bears, dressed as World War I pilots. Each Teddy Bear with a simulated injury was shown by the researcher to the child and asked, what could be done to help each injured Teddy. Their responses were recorded by writing and analysed by a read and re-read process with a goal to establish the categories of the child’s rationale for their responses for reason of injuries and actions. A simple appropriate approach was then discussed with each child. The data indicated that children’s main solution to treatment was to ‘put on a bandaid’. The results showed that children had little comprehension of further treatment.

Starting from the semantic and lexical sphere of the concepts of ‘honte’ (in French) and ‘rușine’ (in Romanian), my aim is to examine the way this word was translated into Romanian; for this purpose, my point of departure was a case study. To this end, I tried to elaborate a comparative translational study of Boris Cyrulnik, titled Mourir de dire. La honte (Éditions Odile Jacob, Paris, 2010) and of its Romanian translation, titled Mai bine mor decît să spun. Rușinea (French translation by Valentin Protopopescu, Editura Trei, “Psihologia pentru toți” collection, Bucharest, 2012). Cyrulnik’s text has a particularity: it oscillates between the specifics of a literary text and those of a specialized text. From this standpoint, his transposition challenges the functionalist theories of translation and mostly the skopos theory elaborated by Katharina Reiss and Hans Vermeer: it is interesting to analyse the way the translator “decodes” the “intentionality” of this type of text, ultimately a specialized text, and the way he decides to transpose its semantic and lexical sphere into Romanian.

This paper investigates the mapping of the impact of natural hazards as included in several databases reviewed or created by the author. These are:- The database of the contribution of the session series “Natural hazards’ impact on urban areas and infrastructure”, convened and co-convened by the first author over 15 years at the European Geosciences General Assembly. - A database created from reviews of students supervised by the authors in frame of the course “Protection of settlements against risks” at the home university. - A collection of historical photographs from the 19th century on different natural and man-made hazards from the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the archive review of which has been performed by the first author and which will be subject of a book to be published about the time of the conference. -Two reviewed collections, one from the exhibition and book on “Images of disasters” (German research) and one on the book “Illustrated history of natural disasters” which include major disasters from the beginning of the mankind. In frame of the paper maps of the spread of data will be presented, created using both arcGIS online and GoogleMaps (see https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zpbbz3WgVMBs.k-3vhGj--l1M&usp=sharing), comparing the source and the type of hazard, to see eventual overlappings between the databases.

The purpose of the research - the research has been undertaken in order to determine the geospatial and temporal distribution of the number and consequences of storms in the global geospace in the period from 1900 till 2013. Design/methodology/approach - The paper applied statistical methods. In addition, a statistical study was conducted by taking the raw data of all natural disasters (25,552) in mind, Excel "file from the international database on disasters (CRED) in Brussels, after which they were analyzed in the same program for statistical analysis of data SPSS. Inventions - Statistical analysis of the results clearly indicate that the number of storms on the rise, as well as the severity of their consequences. Research limitations - it cannot be said that an international database on natural disasters included absolutely everything that happens in the world, given that it was created thanks to the submitted national reports on natural disasters in the period from 1900 till 2013. So the question that arises is whether the most underdeveloped countries submitted their reports. Practical implications - bearing in mind the increasing trend in the number and severity of natural disasters in the world's geographic space, the results are a good argument to launch a serious reform of the system of protection and rescue against natural disasters in countries around the world. Social implications - Results of research impact on raising awareness among citizens on the severity of the consequences of meteorological disasters on people, the environment and their property. Original value - in local Serbian literature there are no scientific papers on this approach analyzing storms. These results are original, bearing in mind the scientific method used to analyze the data obtained from the Center for research of disaster in Brussels.

Ensuite l’analyse qualitative des exemples recueillis a été effectuée.

The topic of this paper is represented by the translation of French contractsthrough functional equivalence. In the first part of the study, we present the avatars of the concept ofequivalence in Translation Studies, the notion of dynamic equivalence introduced by Eugene Nidaand the functional equivalence principle, theorized by Katarina Reiss and Hans Vermeer. We alsoanalyze the concept of equivalence in relation with legal translation and we emphasize the normativenature of the legal text and the importance of adequacy in translation. The second part of the paper isrepresented by the contrastive analysis of translation difficulties implied by French contracts. Suchdifficulties pertain to two classes: they may be terminological or discursive. We also proposetranslation solutions based on the functional equivalence principle.

The main aim of the paper is to propose a new way of studying literary translation, inspired by Hélène Buzelin’s claim to look at the translation process as a manufacturing activity, always involving several subjects. First, the concept of translator studies – one of the most recent subfields of translation studies – is briefly presented together with its major assumptions. Then, the traditional sender-transmitter-receiver translation scheme is developed to include more agents. The resulting list is to give a brief overview of how complex the situation of literary translator is, whose responsibility for the shape of a literary product requires dealing with several counteracting objectives.

AVT is connected to the advent of the cinema the production, distribution and consumption of information among people who may speak different languages. Nowadays, one type of audiovisual productions that seize the attention of the public all over the world is television drama series. Historical forms of TV Drama, start with teleplay as an early form of this genre, continuing with serial dramas, in general and focusing on the feuilleton, in particular. Such productions may be considered as “cultural products, constituted by media practices, and subject to ongoing change and redefinition”. Issues of translation and language difference have been a recurrent concern across a number of very different film categories. Considering the feaures of television drama series it is obvious that subtitling, as translation process has to be performed within the framework of approaching translability vs untranslability considering the content and emotion that reach the audience of such television genre.

The publication provides a brief overview of the overall reception of Norwegian literature in Bulgaria from the Liberation to the present day. It focuses mainly on three books translated from Norwegian in the last two years (2020/2021) – "Against Nature" by Thomas Espedal, "The Undead" by Linn Ullmann and "Trilogy" by Jon Fosse. The aim is to analyze the main themes and motives in these translated works, to highlight their stylistic characteristics and their transmission in translation into Bulgarian. Based on the comparison between translated and original works, examples of difficulties, challenges and good translation solutions in translating certain linguistic and stylistic features from Norwegian into Bulgarian are given.

The paper presents the results of a study testing the moderating role of the motivation for mathematics learning between mental health problem and resilience in children. The sample consisted in 707 Romanian children, (average age 13 years old). The students filled in the questionaries for strengths and difficulties (SDQ), the CYRM for Resilience (Ungar& Theron, 2019) and a questionnaire for mathematics attitudes. The results indicate a significant moderating effect of the mathematic motivation for the relationship between mental health problems (difficulties such as emotional problem, behavioral problems, hyperactivity and peer relations problem) and resilience. So, the mathematic motivation learning reduces the negative effect of mental health problems on resilience, contributing as a protective factor in front of difficulties. There are implications for learning design in educational settings, so the teachers could pay more attention to enhance the student’s motivation for learning mathematics as a possible intervention to enhance resilience.
