In Opoja’s Sub-dialect there are present the following phonetic phenomena:
It is palatalized the consonant g in ğ, at the plural of nouns: zog-zoğ, pllug-plluğ. The consonant ll is palatalized in j in the form of plural at certain nouns e. g.: bull-buj, fyoll-fej, fillon-fije.
Negative particle s is sonorized in z: z’don, z’bon, and former article të of adjective, and particle të of subjunctive: d’bardh, d’zi.
Consonant g becomes voiceless as k when is found in the position in front of voiceless consonants t, sh, ç, s: i lakt, shtek, i liksht. The voiced consonant (sonant) z, when its position is in front of the voiceless consonant t, alternates in s: vashast, vorrast.
In consonant system, the following words have undergone dissimilation: xhemadon, avdes, while metathesis have undergone the words: pshtu, truboll, magar, pshtim.
The vowel e is elided at the article of gender case before a definite noun which ends with the vowel a: drita hã°nos, zota shpis. It is also elided the article e of adjective, in cases when it determines a noun of feminine gender in singular of definite form, for instance: vdora bardh, nusja re.
Vocalic prosthesis and consonant one has included words: vdesh,vdath, çatyne.
Anti-hiatus sound h: lahom, kruhe; anti-hiatus sound j is added to some nouns and adjectives, to some indefinite nouns, and some forms of imperative mood: e reja, delmja, shpija, lulja; the anti-hiatus sound v is added to some forms of verbs, some definite nouns and some indefinite nouns: lava, shava, preva, bleva; the anti-hiatus sound n is added to some verbal forms: shkrina, shkrine.
Epithesis have undergone some verbs in the present tense of indicative mood in the singular: teri, mledhi; to the apheresa have been subordinated the following words: fshan, ka shi.
To the syncope have been subordinated the following words: pnue, mcoj, pnoj, pshue, kllon, me pshu, gzoj.
The following nouns are apocoped: Shem, Nur, Hat, Fat.
