The aim of this paper is to compare, contrast and discuss speech act research in twelve cross-cultural and intercultural studies presenting original findings concerning linguistic politeness. Most studies have focused on comparing English with other languages. As for the instruments, Discourse Completion Tasks/Tests (DCT) have been the most commonly used method, followed by interviews and role plays.

This study deals with the integration of authentic literary texts into foreign language lessons. It briefly defines the basic concept of authentic literary text from the perspective of foreign language teaching, followingly it reveals, in short, the roles which authentic literary texts play in teaching foreign languages, and then it presents some foreign and Czech researches that focus on the issue. Individual presented studies are divided into several categories with respect to the objectives of their empirical research.

This mapping review deals with research focused on developing learner autonomy in pre-tertiary schools. It reviews five pieces of research which deal with learner autonomy in connection with other areas. In four cases the described research is qualitative (two of which are examples of action research) and one quantitative. The author also briefly describes the current state of knowledge concerning learner autonomy.

This review describes and critically analyses studies concerned with second language acquisition published between the years 2007 and 2017 which focus on developing the language skill of speaking by means of computer-assisted language learning (CALL). The broad topic of CALL is further narrowed down by concepts of task-based learning (TBL), simulations, role-playing, features of games and social interaction and their interplay. This review offers not only thorough description but also critical analysis of the research available in this field. Apart from original studies, reviews and meta- analyses are also examined. Furthermore, chosen research papers are categorized and grouped together based on the nature of CALL they implement. The final chapters of this review summarize key findings in individual research articles and points out opportunities for further inquiry in the domain.

The purpose of the the survey is to map the researches concerning intercultural communicative competence in the teaching of a foreign language for specific purposes. The survey consists of six journals studies found in the databases of EBSCO, ERIC and SCOPUS. The studies present original researches that concern the development of intercultural communicative competence in the tertiary level. In the survey, following questions are answered: What is the definition of the intercultural communicative competence in the survey? What are the goals, which methods and approaches are being used? What are the important findings? At the end of the survey, the findings are discussed. The development of intercultural communicative competence in the international work context is most important for the students of a foreign language for specific purposes. The survey also draws attention to concrete examples of insufficiency in tertiary education.

Příspěvek se zabývá debutovým románem Josefa Formánka (*1969) Prsatý muž a zloděj příběhů (2003). Třebaže kniha měla poměrně velký komerční úspěch, česká literární kritika jí příliš kladné hodnocení nevystavila. Důvodů, proč tomu tak bylo, je několik. Některé z nich se pokusím pojmenovat a objasnit. Ve svém příspěvku se zaměřím především na 1) nástin východisek Formánkovy tvorby a na její pozici v kontextu české literatury první dekády nového milénia, a na 2) poetickou a narativní analýzu uvedeného románu.

V příspěvku se zabýváme použitím motivu iniciační cesty ve dvou uměleckých dílech ze současné české a ruské literatury. K analýze byla vybrána díla Cesty na Sibiř (2008) Martina Ryšavého a Vánice (2011) Vladimira Sorokina. Cílem příspěvku je analyzovat kompoziční výstavbu literárních děl, kdy v rámci prozkoumání možností využití motivu iniciační cesty bude zvláštní pozornost věnována narativním technikám, kategorii času a prostoru, interním subjektům a vedlejším motivům.

The aim of the study is to introduce the concept of foreign language communication anxiety and to outline studies dealing with this topic at the university level. The paper provides an overview based on data from sixteen studies that were included in the international databases Web of Science and Scopus in the range of the last nineteen years. Both quantitatively and qualitatively focused studies examine the concept of foreign language communication anxiety in relation to the personal characteristics of individuals and external variables, e.g. teacher’s personality or classroom dynamics.

This review aims to map the research connected with the use of ICT tools for the development of speaking skill in foreign language learning. It is based on nine international studies showing in which ways the asynchronous online environment can be used for the development of the speaking skill, emphasising the positive influence of ICT on students’ motivation, and some of them pointing out the importance of feedback.

Povinnost výkonu spisové služby jako odborné správy dokumentů v celém jejich životním cyklu přinesly od 1. 1. 2005 zákon č. 499/2004 Sb., o archivnictví a spisové službě a o změně některých zákonů (dále jen „archivní zákon“) a vyhláška č. 646/2004 Sb., o podrobnostech výkonu spisové služby. Obecná ustanovení předchozí archivní legislativy, zejména pak zákona č. 97/1974 Sb., o archivnictví, ve znění pozdějších právních předpisů, tak byla nahrazena konkrétními postupy, které musí původci zajistit v rámci příjmu, označování, evidence, rozdělování, oběhu, vyřizování, vyhotovování, podepisování, odesílání, ukládání a vyřazování dokumentů. Dokument, který nahradil do té doby používaný pojem písemnost, byl nově definován jako každá písemná, obrazová, zvuková nebo jiná zaznamenaná informace, ať již v podobě analogové (zejména listinná forma) nebo digitální, která byla vytvořena původcem nebo byla původci doručena.

Informace, reprezentované pomocí dat, se s nástupem informační společnosti na počátku 21. století staly nejžádanější komoditou. Dle odhadu informačního teoretika Martina Hilberta bylo v roce 2007 celosvětově uloženo 300 exabajtů dat, z toho pouze 7% v analogové podobě a to včetně knih a fotografií (MAYER-SCHÖNBERGER – CUKIER 2014, s. 16–17). V roce 2018 publikovala výzkumná společnost IDC zprávu, v níž odhadla celkovou velikost uložených dat na světě na 33 zetabajtů (1ZB = 1021B) s tím, že v roce 2025 bude naše civilizace ukládat 175 zetabajtů dat (REINSEL – GANTZ – RYDNING 2018, s. 3). Pro představu 175ZB odpovídá hodnotě 175 miliard terabajtů. Jestliže, dle kvalifikovaných odhadů, bude žít v té době na planetě přibližně 8 miliard lidí, připadne na každého včetně novorozenců téměř 22 terabajtů dat.

Archivnictví a spisová služba v České republice je v současnosti upravena zákonem č. 499/2004 Sb., o archivnictví a spisové službě a o změně některých zákonů. Mezi jednu z důležitých problematik, kterou archivní zákon řeší, patří evidence archiválií uložených v jednotlivých archivech a kulturně vědeckých institucí. Právě přesná evidence spravovaných archiválií se řadí mezi základní činnosti každé z nich. Evidence archiválií a program PEvA, prostředek umožňující vést evidenci i v digitální podobě, spolu úzce souvisejí a jsou vzájemně zcela provázány. Následující text je proto spíše popisem evidence Národního archivního dědictví a program PEvA je představen především jako technická podpora této činnosti, která umožňuje vést co nejdokonalejší evidenci, sloužící nejen archivářům, ale zejména badatelské veřejnosti.

Každý dokument se po převzetí do archivu stává součástí jednoho archivního souboru (archivního fondu nebo archivní sbírky). V rámci těchto celků se pak archiválie zpracovávají a zpřístupňují veřejnosti, což patří ke stěžejním úkolům každého archivu. Výsledkem procesu zpracování archiválií a zároveň prostředkem pro zpřístupnění archiválií badatelům jsou již od konce padesátých let 20. století, kdy byla vydána první základní pravidla pro zpracování archivního materiálu, jasně definované archivní pomůcky. Podle hloubky popisu archiválií rozlišujeme několik typů archivních pomůcek, přičemž za ty základní dnes považujeme manipulační seznam 1. a 2. typu, inventář, dílčí inventář a katalog. Speciální typy archivních pomůcek, jako jsou tematické katalogy či rejstříky, se vyhotovují výjimečně a pouze v případech, kde je vytvoření takového typu archivní pomůcky účelné.

Digitalizace archivních dokumentů patří mezi nejdůležitější a v současné době nejpoužívanější metody jejich ochrany. Zároveň je díky ní možné řešit problematiku předkládání archiválií veřejnosti. Povinnost řádně pečovat o archiválie jako součásti národního kulturního dědictví ukládá archivům zákon č. 499/2004 Sb., o archivnictví a spisové službě a o změně některých zákonů (dále jen archivní zákon). Digitalizace tedy náleží do skupiny informačních technologií, pomocí kterých je archiv schopen plnit úkoly v oblasti odborného zpracování, zpřístupňování a zejména uchovávání archiválií pro příští generace.

Adolescence is an important transitional period during which young people ex pand their relationship networks. Adolescents make more friends than in all the preceding developmental stages. They also begin to enter into romantic relation ships, which is new uncharted territory for them. This developmental task is very important for them, and it is one that needs to be successfully tackled. It is, however, obvious that this task challenges adolescents with a myriad of problems and risks, and not everyone easily manages this stage of life well. Dynamic changes in adoles cents’ social networks have to be observed holistically. Adolescents’ relationships with adults and peers, their influence on each other and how they organise them selves into new networks and systems need to be examined closely. Adolescence is also an important period for the development of mental resilience, well being, and of the capability to positively experience things or, simply put, of emotional hap piness. We are trying to understand how adolescents’ social relationships expand and change during this crucial period, and how their relationships are potentially linked to emotional happiness.
