The self-image, as one of the most important psychological constructs, affects the overall development and behavior of an individual since early childhood. The formation of this unique psychological entity is determined by interactions with the significant other people, primarily parents, as primary socialization agent. Having in mind that adolescents from social welfare institutions mostly come from dysfunctional families, it is reasonable to assume that these children will demonstrate specific ways to create and develop their self-image.. Therefore, the main aim of this study is to examine the differences between adolescents from social welfare institutions and adolescents from the general population regarding their self-perception and self-evaluation. The sample consists of 45 adolescents frm the social welfare institutions and 327 adolescents from the general population, ages 12-18 years, both sexes. Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale was used for the assessment of self-concept (Piers-Harris & Herzberg, 2002). The results of this study have demonstarted that adolescents from social welfare instututions have lower scores on each subscale and a lower total score than their peers. Statistically significant differences were found on the scales that measure Behavioral Adjustment (t = 2,11; df = 370; p < 0,05) and Happiness and Satisfaction (t = 3,89; df = 370; p < 0,01), as well as Total Score (t = 2,802; df = 370; p < 0,05). The obtained findings imply the need for implementing additional programs and workshops in social welfare institutions, in order to improve the self-image.

At the beginning of the 21st century peer violence became one of the most prominent forms of misconduct in our society. The worrying fact is that an increasing number of victims of peer violence among elementary school students. Inadequate communication with children by parents, providing material satisfactions, lack of authority often tell children to enter into various forms of asocial behavior, which is often aggression, but also an initial step towards more serious forms of delinquent behavior. Also, schools in the last few years have not found ways to correct the dysfunctional behavior of students who are most likely to become criminal offenders later on. The very cause of such socially unsuitable behavior needs to be sought and identified even in elementary school. The aim of this paper is to present an idea in the form of a pilot project entitled "School of Election" which deals with the prevention of this complex and socially dangerous phenomenon.

Fixed schedules, frontal form of teacher work with students, multiservice sitting in the classroom, presentation-recitation system of the teaching process, passive role of students in the teaching process, tests, checking, punishment, fear of assessment are not the situations which happen in Finnish schools. The active role of the student is in the first place. Starting from these facts, the aim of this paper is not to idealize the Finnish system of education although it has proved to be one of the best in the world, and the Finnish model can not solve all the problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina's education system, but simply want to offer the opportunity to make something out of their educational system we can learn, and, based on our possibilities, the states and the realities, something and apply in our education system. By showing one of the highest quality education systems, we really want to point out how much quality education can influence the prevention of marginalization of individuals and groups. Today, knowledge is the best means of combating marginalization, and for that very reason it is necessary to help marginalized groups by strengthening their competences through a strong and functional education system.

The information burden on students and the lack of understanding of the natural science material negatively affects the interest in Chemistry and environmental protection. Qualitative training requires searching for ways of innovative presentation of learning content to achieve the learning objective of this learning discipline. The paper presents a way of working to raise the level and effectiveness of classroom chemistry training through ICT and “interactive” learning. The productive integration of technology in chemistry classes and the use of interactive teaching methods depends on the teacher, his / her competencies and attitudes.

In this paper, the authors’ collective is presenting a questionnaire, designed and tested by them for the regular evaluation of the educational environment in high schools. It consists of 50 multiple choice questions about quality of learning and relations between school children and teachers. The questionnaire was tested on the students of three high schools in Varna. It was distributed to male and female students of the 9th, 10th and 11th grades. The data set consists of 693 respondents − schoolboys and girls characterized by their answers to 50 questions each one ranked by values from 1 to 5. Non-hierarchical cluster analysis was applied to find patterns of similarity between the questions or between the pupils. The results verified the constructive value of the questionnaire as a method of evaluation of the educational environment in high schools.

This is a short communication of an inexpensive and safe experiment used in Analytical Chemistry. The experiment uses the idea of Beer’s law from a Freshman Chemistry Laboratory course for one material, where the absorption of light changes with the amount of material. However, in this experiment, it is expanded for two materials. Plus, since both materials are dyes and usually readily available in a College or University, it makes it both affordable and easy to use.

The copolymerization of Tetrahydrofuran (THF) with Epichlorohydrin (ECH) catalyzed by efficient and environmentally friendly catalyst called Maghnite-H+ was investigated , in the presence of a natural Algerian montmorillonite clay modified H2SO4, known as Maghnite-H, as proton source, a non-toxic and an efficient catalyst for cationic polymerization of many vinylic and hetero-cyclic monomers, this ecological catalyst replaces usual toxic catalysts such as Lewis and Bronsted acids ,the oxonium ion of tetrahydrofuran (THF) and (ECH) propagated the reaction of copolymerization, the operating conditions were opted in order to obtain a maximum yield of the linear polymer and a high average molecular mass as well. We have studied the kinetic of the reaction by the effect of the time, the temperature, the amount of Maghnite-H+ and the proportion of monomers according to the changes in yield and the intrinsic viscosity, the structure of polymers obtained was confirmed by IR analysis. 1H NMR, the average molecular mass and the polydispersity indices were determined by GPC, after these kinetic studies and analyzes obtained, it is possible to propose at the end a reaction mechanism of the copolymerization.

Four rules of thumb were developed to find the absolute configuration of a molecule without using any stereo model or hand analogies. This method will be a boon for students who are unable to visualize a three-dimensional structure or any model. A maximum thirty seconds is required to assign absolute configuration by using this method.

Although the question of women’s vocational development in Galicia has been studied from many scholarly perspectives, it was rarely a subject of separate studies. In the presented article the author deals with main trends in women’s vocational development and with features that characterized the process of women’s gaining the labor market in the years 1880–1910. On the basis of the results of Austrian censuses published in both main all-Austrian and provincial periodicals, it was possible to state that women’s vocational development was of a traditional character. Little participation in that phenomenon belonged to the non-agricultural sector. In comparison to other Polish regions as well as to those of Austrian crown lands Galicia appears to have been very poor and unfavorable. (Trans.: Antoni Sarkady)

With the arrival to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austro-Hungarians encountered a Muslim population which was not present in its other provinces. The ordinary Courts of Law introduced by Austro-Hungarian government, were neither equipped nor competent to deal with issues of interaction of Muslims and non-Muslims, especially in the issues regarding the family law, inheritance and waqf law. The need for establishing an institution that will primarily form and then also employ a qualified staff capable of dealing with these issues was evident. Seven years passed from the time when this idea was born to its actual implementation. The solution was found in establishing The Sharia Law Judiciary School in Sarajevo, where local qualified judges for the Sharia Courts would be educated under the eyes of the new government. By the decision of the National Government for Bosnia and Herzegovina of May, 14th 1887, the Statute about establishment of a school for Sharia judges in Sarajevo was brought. The aim of this article is to take an insight into the flow of the functioning of The Sharia Law Judiciary School in Sarajevo during the fifty years of its existence. This aim we intend to achieve through a research and a comparison of: all the changes that were made in its Teaching Plan and Programme, all the subjects that were taught, the quality and the origin of the teaching staff in this school and the vocation gained by its graduates.

Despite of its importance and of the multiple possible outcomes, spiritualautobiography has not been enough valorised until now by the theological, philological, philosophical orhistorical research. Conscious on this fact, we will try there to bring into attention an important workof the genre, namely the spiritual autobiography of Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1910-2003), founderof the famous Congregation of Catholic sisters, "Missionaries of Charity." Moreover, we willinvestigate there a relevant aspect not only for the style and content of her work, but also for thecontemporary society, namely the education and its role. We will try to emphasize there the multipleforms of education that can be found and to see what is the relationship between education, revelationand act according to the Catholic religious. We will also try to see the similitudes and differencesbetween the investigated text and other coming from the same or from different confessionalbackgrounds and to create, where it will be possible, bridges between spiritualties.

Job’s method is extensively used to determine the stoichiometry of complex ions both in the field of education and research. However, the shape of the Job’s plot generally does not match to what is shown in the textbooks due to simultaneous absorption by other species involved in the equilibria. The conventional correction method deals the problem by assuming that no reaction would have occurred among the reactants and thus uses their formal concentrations for the correction of empirical data. The assumption is contradictory as, in solution equilibria, formal concentrations differ substantially from the respective equilibrium concentrations. Alternatively, multiwavelength linear regression analysis is used to determine the equilibrium concentrations of reactants in the system. The two correction methods, when applied on Cu-EDTA system, showed a significant difference between them. The comparative study is designed to evaluate the correction methods. Moreover, Microsoft Excel® was incorporated to transform tedious correction into quick and interesting processing of data.

In order to tackle the various challenges of nowadays society, it is necessarythat education be oriented not towards the nondiscriminatory and abusive disposal of pedagogicalideas of Modernity, but towards their transformation and adjustment to the particularities andfeatures that postmodern society calls for. Set within the scope of technological changes, society andthe educational system try to face the pressures within and outside the system and to face the need tochange. Democratic societies, based on respectand mutual support, humanism and social justice, require the development of educational policies that could lead to the building of a universal values’culture including: the truth, justice, love. There is a constant search in educational practice to findsolutions for the attribution and respect of values, of the rights belonging to all those who are beingeducated and to equal chances granted to each of them. This way, educating children becomes morethan a mere syntagm of Postmodernism, but rather a firm and clear requirement of our times, determined by the stringent needs of the present.
