Assessment of New Terms in the Komi Language
The process of creating of new terms has been going on for the last 15—20 years. It is important that we note that during this process terms were also created for use in school education, which plays a significant role in terms of language development. Nevertheless, it is important to remember that the process should be systematic and respond to the language rules and needs of the audience. The attitude of society to the new terms is significant too. The current article presents an analysis of the results of a sociolinguistic study which was organized at the end of 2014 and dedicated to the assessment of new terms including the school terminological vocabularies published in 2011.
