Civil society is characterized by activeness and ability to self organize. It is also capable of setting and reaching designated issues without impulses from the state authority. System of receiving of the money from structural funds, on the different levels, creates frameworks to put such attitudes to use. The key concepts here are the planning stage of sharing of the amount granted from the union budget, all tak¬ing place within social consultation [partnership rule], and the process of utilising of funds itself. It is not uncommon that projects are carried out by different kinds of foundations or social groups which are set up as a result of the rank-and-file initia¬tive relevant for the very purpose. The author presents the essence of local authorities cooperation with local activists, non-governmental organizations and foundations. There are presented current research on activity in the public life of the city and the needs in this regard. The article also includes examples of campaigns organized by the residents of settlements and the impact of Internet on urban development policy.

The political participation of evangelicals in Colombia has been the conse quence of two waves of religious mobilization. I hypothesis is that religious mobi lization in the political field has been based on the demand for religious equality (in the 1990s) and the defense of Christian morality (in the 2010s). My objective is to describe the two wave of evangelical political mobilization in Colombia and its implications for the political arena. I have used diverse documentary sources (in ternal documents of some parties, books, dissertations, journals) and interviews with political and religious leaders, as well as some years of participant observa tion in some religious services and political meetings.

The development of the modern information and communication techno logies, as well as the increase of the number of internet users, has helped to intensify the debate on internet governance at international forums. on the one hand, the United States insists on the Multi-stakeholder internet governance model, while on the other hand, China is more loudly advoca ting the ”internet sovereignty” model – a multilateral approach in which all countries of the world freely choose their own cyber-development way, with no state having a position to apply cyber hegemony. This model certainly came under criticism in the West, because it was designated as a platform for empowering control and violating civil liberties. But, on the other hand, we are witnessing that certain Western states are also working to establish greater control in their own cyber space, and therefor their critique of the Chinese model is less convincing. Finaly, China, as the first ”internet sove reign” state, has reach so far in the domain of technical and legislative im provement of its own cyber space, that it is difficult to imagine that the cu rrent situation will return to its initial position, especially if we consider the growth of political and economic power of this state. We have come to the conclusion that in the future global debate on internet governance, the ar guments will be increasingly on the Chinese side, and that a new era of cyber sovereign states is ahead of us.

The purpose of this article is to present charitable activities of the Catholic Church on the example of the Łódź branch of Caritas. The author raises several issues, including the relationship between religion and social capital, altruism and religiosity of the individual. The Łódź branch of Caritas realizes many different forms of aid activities, which benefit the poor, the sick, the disabled. Thanks to the commitment of thousands of volunteers, this organization can fully realize its statutory objectives. One should also appreciate the contribution of Caritas to the formation of the civil society.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the dynamics of civic participation in Serbia, as well as to test its relevance for the level of citizens’ political involvement. For estimating the impact of the membership in civic associations on political party membership and non-conventional types of political activism, the non-parametric analyses of variance test, followed by post hoc testing has been employed. The main findings of the analysis suggest that civic participation is a significant predictor of political activism of Serbian citizens. The results of the empirical procedures indicate significant differences in the degree of political participation, based on the levels of citizens’ engagement in community organizations. The implications of the study could serve as the grounds for designing policies aimed at strengthening civic society and creating incentives for citizens’ active involvement in political life.

Throughout the history of the Polish nation, everything that was Polish, also meant Christian. The Church in Poland didn't exist outside the Nation, It was in the Nation. It was the soul of the Nation in the times of its greatness and, even more so, during the times of political failure, when the Christian values were the factors of survival. According to the Bishops, there were three institutions that influenced the creation of the civic society, namely: family, Church and state. The analysis of the texts of the letters concerning the teachings of the Polish Episcopate indicates the factors that led to the reduction of the civic initiative or, even, its complete annihilation. The factors are: material losses, a decline in morality as a result of war, dishonesty, hatred, fear, enslavement, lack of social integrity.

The debates on how to foster civic participation have intensified in current years, especially with the coming of digital era. New electronic social networks and other digital platforms promising the unseen possibilities for variety of activities including civic participation, has been emphasized as a factor facilitating civic engagement (Smith, 2013). In this article, we test a hypothesis that people, who are actively engaged in electronic social networks at the same time are more likely participate in civic activities. The findings show that electronic social networks generally have a positive relationship with participation in various civic activities. More specifically, we find that engagement in specific networked activities, such as “offering topics for discussion”, “contributing to organized events” or “publication of content” have more influence on civic participation than others.

The subject of quantitative research is to examine the factors influencing citizens' attitudes towards assisting vulnerable people and volunteering during natural disasters. In this paper, the authors examine the relationship between gender, age, level of education, marital status, employment, income level and perception of personal religiosity, and the attitudes to assisting vulnerable people and volunteering. Multiple-point random sampling was used to survey 2500 citizens in the area of 19 local communities endangered by the consequences of natural disasters. The results of the survey show that 29% of respondents would provide assistance to vulnerable people in the form of money, 18,2% in the form of food and water, 21,6% in clothing and footwear, 23,3% would volunteer, while 4,6% would engage in shelter centers for endangered people. In addition, it was found that there was no statistically significant relationship between the attitudes towards providing assistance in the form of money and the employment status. As well as, attitudes about volunteering and provision of food and water assistance are not related to the employment status of respondents, etc. The results of the research can be used to improve the management system in natural disasters and to create appropriate educational programs for establishing a more efficient and comprehensive system of assistance to vulnerable people and the operation of volunteer organizations.

The content of the concept of legal consciousness from the point of view of modern scientific developments on this issue is considered. The article is devoted to the analysis of the interrelations of the legal consciousness and the legal system in the context of the European integration processes in Ukraine. The conclusion is argued: the processes that occur in society inevitably affect the legal consciousness and the development of new branches of law. Further development of the legal system of Ukraine and its acquisition of qualitatively new properties that would contribute to the development of civil society in the state and the establishment of the rule of law are possible only in the context of the development of legal consciousness. The development of the legal system of Ukraine has traditionally been a priority area of modern science research in the theory of state and law. The system of law is the regulatory core of the emerging legal system, based on the legal ideology of a particular state and at the same time serving as the normative basis of behavior in the field of law. The dialectic of the components of legal reality is due to their reflection in human consciousness and the embodiment of this process in other legal phenomena. But at the same time, one should not abstract from the generative role of legal consciousness. A significant factor that raises the theoretical relevance of this topic is that the emphasis on the theoretical level was mostly given to the normative component of the legal system, which somewhat artificially pushed issues related to the development of justice into the background. However, the practice of law-making processes in Ukraine proved the need for special legal research on the relationship between the dynamics of legal consciousness and the development of the legal system as a whole. Realization of legal norms and increase of efficiency of legal regulation necessitate study of all factors that promote normal development of legal life of society and legal relations. One of them is the legal consciousness, since just as the functioning of the legal system is impossible without the subjects of law, and the existence of the subjects themselves can’t be presented separately from the legal consciousness. Quite often, ineffectiveness and ineffectiveness of legal regulation are explained not only by the low level of legal acts in force, but also by the factor in rejecting the legal consciousness of the society of these legal norms or entire legal institutions. Legal consciousness is directly formed in the person himself and in fact with the person himself. She goes along with her path of development; in this context one can draw an analogy with the formation of the individual. And moreover, the person as the basis of the natural and social world, its development, forms the ideas of the legal field, that is, reflects through its legal consciousness the foundations of legal reality around them.
