Konsenzuální konference o bezdomovectví v ČR: příprava, průběh a výstupy
The first-ever consensus conference on homelessness took place in Prague on 26−27 November 2014. Homelessness is an issue that arouses many controversial opinions in Czech society. A consensus conference can be described as a public survey intended to deliver a consensual answer on a socially controversial topic. The key role is played by the jury, which listens to the arguments of experts in the topic at hand and the evidence they present for their claims. The jury can ask them additional questions and demand answers to these questions. Subsequently, the jury assesses in camera all the presented evidence and issues its resulting opinion by a fixed deadline. When formulating its conclusions it can refer to other relevant sources as well as the evidence presented by the experts. This time, answers were sought to five fundamental homelessness issues that could help find a solution to this socially pressing problem.
