This text highlights an extremely important and serious problem, which concerns the whole development of contemporary students. The name of the problem is lack of dialogue and interaction between the educational and social-pedagogical institutions. It is a fact that today’s educational reality is very different and definitely needs special attention from the pedagogical theory and practice. In school and in the classrooms almost every day we have cases that require serious intervention from specialized social-pedagogical institutions. To be effective, this intervention must be adequate and in time. In specific situations, the teacher is not only completely powerless to respond, but could complicate the situation if acting unprofessional. The article cites a research, conducted for several years. The aim of the study was to confirm or deny the hypothesis that there is no interaction between the educational and social-pedagogical institutions. The research is made through a questionnaire designed for educators working in the field of primary education. The reasons for absence of such interaction could be found equally in both sides. On one hand, the school rarely asks for outside help. On the other hand, the social-pedagogical institutions do not always respond in time, or in the best way. It turns out that the “cold war” in the education of Bulgarian children exists not only between teachers and parents, but also at institutional level - between the capacities that carry professional responsibility for training, education and overall development of the younger generation. Educational interaction is an indispensable condition for achieving positive results in the implementation of these processes. The lack of educational cooperation will not only stop progress, but can cause serious damage in shaping the character.

The article presents the main results of a monitoring of the effectiveness and efficiency of projects, implemented by a selection procedure “Education in a spirit of tolerance and non-discrimination in kindergartens and schools by preserving and developing the cultural identity of children and students from ethnic minorities”. The aim is to be assessed to what extent the implemented projects contributed to achieving the strategic goals of the Centre for Educational Integration of Children and Students from Ethnic Minorities.

For the first time, the international study PISA 2015 includes a special “Collaborative problem Solving” module in which students solve team tasks with one, two or more virtual partners. The study was conducted among 15-year-olds from all over the world. Its main objective is to assess whether students can effectively engage in problem-solving activities with one or more partners sharing their knowledge, skills and efforts to achieve a certain outcome.

The leading ideas of contemporary pedagogical paradigm at the beginning of the new century are result from general changes in society, social structures, family types and partners interaction, the school and expectations towards its role in the process of interaction “children-parents-teachers”. The ways to reach it are in the non-contradictory realization that the real partnership interrelation and in the assimilation and controling of the art of peaceful (nonviolence, not aggressive) constructive communication. For this type of communication new skills are necessary, which all parties (children, parents, teachers) in the interaction have to assimilate and to develop together with common activities. Their roots are in altruism, empathy and love, which are an essence of the humanity and true humaneness in relationships. They are sustainable in the temple of knowledge – the school. This is the main conclusion from the analysis of the new pedagogical paradigm for interaction with children and parents in the education.

Modern education is characterised by student-centered classroom, focus on real-life preparation and lifelong learning, modern and challenging learning environment. In these dynamic and ongoing changes in education, a center role plays the teachers. They need to have the necessary attitudes to face all challenges and develop themselves, and also a set of skills that differ from those of the teachers of decades ago. The aim of this article is to trace historically the concepts of teachers’ professional profile around the World and in Bulgaria, and on this basis to bring out the skills necessary for modern science teachers. Attention is drawn to the change in the role of the teacher, the learning environment, technological progress, family values. The focus of the study is on the views of the founders of constructivism – John Dewey, Lev Vygotsky, Jerome Bruner and others – for the professional and personal qualities of the teacher.

This article presents the results of a diagnostic survey conducted in the academic school year 2016/2017, involving 937 students from non-specialized schools (secondary schools, language and maths high schools, vocational high schools) in 7 districts in Bulgaria. The survey was aimed at providing an overall picture of important aspects of scientific literacy as seen by Bulgarian high-school students. The survey tool was a modified version (Clough et al., 2010; Moss, 2012) of the SUSSI questionnaire – Student Understanding of Science and Scientific Inquiry (Liang et al., 2006), translated into Bulgarian. The quantitative analysis of the data gathered through multiple choice questions shows that 59% of the students involved in the survey had an undefined view, 37% – a forming view to an informed view, 3% – an informed view, and only 1% – a forming view to a naïve view. Students’ views dependencies on their cognitive outcomes, gender and the type of school they attend are highlighted through a correspondence analysis.

The study is devoted to the problem of organization and realization of professional education of students – future biology teachers, for formation their methodological skills for work with interactive methods of education with the school pupils. There has been presented fragments of the methodological structure of the lessons to the students. The article discusses the issue of inequality in accessibility and quality of education, which is rightly considered to be one of the most significant and current in contemporary socio-political and pedagogical research. It reveals the deep connection between inequality, ontologically rooted in the foundations of society and the institutional nature of education. Various constraints and barriers on the way to obtaining a quality school education are outlined. The situation in Bulgaria is characterized, where educational inequality has become one of the persistent institutes in the post-communist period in the development of the country.

Education is a sociological and philosophical immanence, which serves as the basis for all pedagogical principles, notions, opinions, and ideas typified and transcended in the educational area and the educational being of people. Education is a sociological, philosophical, pedagogical, and anthropological process that gives people knowledge, skills, and abilities. Education, through the systematic acquisition of scientific knowledge about nature, society and the human reasoning and it leads to acquisition of skills which develop and establish specific human traits, such as: knowledge, abilities, interests and opinions for different social and philosophical views of the world. Education as a term has many meanings. It implies an institution, a process, content and it is a result of organized or non-organized learning, for development of different cognitive abilities, and the acquisition of different knowledge, skills and habits, such as reading, writing, calculus and general knowledge about physics, the social and economic environment. Education is a part of the society or a sub-system of the global social system. Since society is part of the social system, it has all the characteristics of the global society as a whole.

The paper outlines some approaches that evoke active participation of members of a virtual community in development of teaching materials or for organising and conducting educational initiatives online. The two leading models for virtual products development and elaboration are featured - open-source model and crowdsourcing. Original community-sourcing approach is described, along with some results of its approbation in a virtual community focused on mathematics and computer science education for students.

The paper offers an ethnological reading of the Turkish TV series “What is Fatmagül’s guilt?” as well as a critical view on its broadcast on Bulgarian television. The central subject matter is a group rape which sets the main theme of the series: violence against women. The authors develop the theme in two main forms:physical/sexual and symbolic violence, the latter regulated and maintained by thewedding ritual. The core of the latter is the problem of virginity.Special focus is paid to the script and the way in which pre-modern culture is presented. There are examples which show that the literary text is not only a super structure over cultural facts or their basic illustration, but in many cases it conducts a dialogue with them, transforms them and even rejects them as cultural practices (the problem of guilt, the ‘besmirching’ of the woman, the first wedding night complex,the cultural meaning of the red colour in a man’s relationship with his wife, the bed,material and spiritual, etc.). The series represents a good example of creative work on and analysis of pre-modern culture.

The article justifies the need to construct and apply a technology for stimulating the literacy process in family conditions as a prerequisite for raising the level of proficiency in Bulgarian language and raising the results of the students in a multicultural environment in accordance with the state education standard for general education. The article introduces the notion of solfeggio not only to refer to special education and educational science in music, but also as a method of study, experience and dedication in the alphabet of language and literature. For this purpose is explored how through musical approach are created words, formed by sound assimilation of actions; constructed as unmeaning musical fillings; sound imitations of the voices of animals with specific meaningful goal – bleating; sound imitation of the work of individual objects or equipment. The main objectives of verbal solfeggio is to identify learning and practical realization of harmonic music of language in its semantic and figurative rhythmic, taking into consideration the national and individual language tonality.

The paper presents the opportunities for the implementation of the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET), in the context of the Lifelong Learning Process. There it is clarified the nature, the origin and the development of ECVET as an initiative within the European Union, that influences the contemporary dimensions of the vocational education, both for school-students and adult learners. A contemporary man is embroiled in perpetual change. Living in the world in which it is more and more difficult to find permanence and constancy frequently evokes anxiety and confusion about the world and one’s own life. It is hard to find lasting values and set long- and short-term goals, which is connected with the fact that people stop perceiving their life and activity as a value, as something with the meaning and sense. They stop thinking about what is significant and meaningful and about their direction – apart from material goods, which gain in importance. However, possessing things does not make people happy because they lack the ‚essence’ necessary for achieving the climax of humanity, the meaning of life which is focoused an individual’s activity and essential attribute of his full developement. Meaning of life is made present not only in action but also in relationships with other people, God and oneself. It is very important to consider the role of meaning of life in education to old age. Education concerning meaning of life may help people function better in their everyday life, act more effectively and meet their needs. In this paper, it was presented the research about existential needs of 200 elderly people with using some standardized questionnaire “Unmet psychosocial and spiritual needs of elderly”. The final conclusions indicate the value of the religious, spiritual and social needs of the respondents.

In this article are viewed the relationship between two systems in communication in deaf children – speechreading and reading in which decoding of a verbal signal is performed through the visual sensory channel. To find correlations between two processes, 40 children with impaired hearing were tested. The results of this study indicated that there is a significant relationship between speechreading and reading skills.

This study aims to establish the attitudes and readiness to active involvement in the process of inclusive education in the future professional realization of students from the Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from various specialties at the Faculty of Pedagogy, Thracian University, Stara Zagora. The main survey method is interviewing. The developed survey explores both the theoretical orientation of the problem and the practical readiness of the students to participate in the process. The purpose of the study is also related to the intention to identify existing deficits and to overcome them by updating curricula and learning practices in the process of student education.
