- Summary/Abstract:The globalization process, which originally dominated only the economic sphere, subsequently led to profound social, political and cultural transformations, having a significant impact on culture and identity. In this context, tolerance is becoming a fundamental source of the peaceful coexistence of multi-ethnic and multicultural societies, facilitating cooperation and avoiding confrontations/ conflicts of values and norms. In this study, we propose to define the concept of tolerance, to elucidate the importance of promoting tolerance and education for tolerance in the context of the diversity in the contemporary world. Otherwise, tolerance stops violent extremism and genocide, provides prosperity and equal opportunities for the development of cultures, helps us to organize and maintain a constructive intercultural dialog.

- Summary/Abstract:Values are final lines that separate a person from society, whereas a person may be forced to prioritize his or her own values to social-based values. Society influences values and children are educated in those underlying values, which exist in certain society. Therefore, even transmitted knowledge cannot be seen as neutral. We argue that values in education must represent an important topic to practice intellect by establishing dialogues between students; implanting cultural values and contributing to the person’s spiritual and ethical development. In the presented study we focus on the review of the bibliographic sources in Slovenia to analyse which values Slovenia prioritizes, because those values may be reflected in the Slovenian education. The key findings show that values in education are changing, their priority is changing, and some are disappearing altogether. Resource reflection gives us important information on how to introduce learning and socialization of values into the educational processes.

- Summary/Abstract:The use of IT tools in education has been approached in recent years as a complementary strategy to streamline the educational process. The year 2020 brought a radical paradigm shift in terms of education, the online school being the only solution for education for an indefinite period of time. The problem has become a general problem of society, appealing to resources that exceed the limits of the education system. Students, teachers, parents are the actors directly confronted with the challenges of online schooling. The study, conducted on the basis of a questionnaire, presents the opinions of 97 primary school students, 61 primary school teachers and 140 parents regarding the distance learning system. The difficulties encountered in adapting to the new way of organizing the school and the way they were felt are highlighted.

- Keywords:didactic communication; online; advantages; difficulties; projections
- Summary/Abstract:Online communication involves a number of specific elements, all relevant in the current context of teaching activities. Theoretical perspective on the field will be related, in this paper, to a particular reality: that of online didactic communication capitalized on the specialization “Pedagogy of Pre-school and Primary School Teaching” from the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences (,,Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, Iasi, Romania), in the second semester of the academic year 2019-2020. This particular reality will be illustrated by the students' perspective on online didactic communication from March-June 2020: platforms/means used in course/seminar/pedagogical practice/evaluation activities, advantages/disadvantages of this type of communication (versus communication in the classroom), opportunities/obstacles identified in the online activities (by reference to the organization of these activities; teacher-student-student relations; team work; emotion management; time management; technical means, etc.), proposals for improving subsequent activities.

- No. of Pages:10
- Keywords:didactic discourse; logic of didactic discourse; didactic communication; educational logic; teaching strategies
- Summary/Abstract:The need to assume a teaching discourse implies a specific approach that has as determinant core the subjectivity of the educational actor who transmits/receives certain messages. Such messages are decoded and reformulated, we could say, even repeated at the level of curricular contents, most often of a scientific nature. Thus, the understanding, or the misunderstanding of such contents lies in the fact that a discursive algorithm is not always observed, precisely in order not to confine the teaching activity to the level of a convergent specific attitude. In other words, the understanding and misunderstanding of a message, the curricular content, can result from the very mutual attitude existing among the participants in the teaching communication process. Such an attitude is especially obvious when using a divergent specific attitude, which has the effect of using strategies based upon creativity. Beyond the existing conceptual paradox (the term "strategy" itself implies, or at least should imply the use of a clear, coherent, well-structured and organized algorithm) at the level of teaching, our reference is mainly focused on the ways in which one can build a teaching discourse taking into account a specific substantiation of a logical nature, i.e. an educational logic. Therefore, the purpose of this approach that we initiated is to analyze how a logic can be achieved at the level of teaching discourse and to what extent it can validate an educational reality.

- No. of Pages:6
- Keywords:teaching; English; inspection; observation; suggestions
- Summary/Abstract:The present study is based on the English classes observed during the inspections held in the first semester of the school year 2019-2020 on the occasion of awarding teachers the first didactic degree. Usually, when being inspected teachers feel uncomfortable and perceive the inspection as a stressful situation. The purpose of the research is to demonstrate that any inspection can be a positive experience that could help teachers become aware of their strengths and weaknesses in order to develop their teaching skills. The feedback offered by inspections is a useful tool that may lead to increasing teachers’ confidence in themselves and their ability to evaluate their own teaching activities. Starting from class observation, the paper presents some suggestions and recommendations meant to help language instructors to improve their teaching style.

- Summary/Abstract:Solving mathematical exercises and problems is a very important stage of the teaching activity in mathematics education, both pre-university and university. Exercise and problem solving lessons / seminars are an optimal framework for the development of thinking in all aspects. The activity of solving the exercises and problems has the richest formative valences, within it capitalizing both the mathematical knowledge available to the pupil and the student, respectively, as well as the level of his intellectual development. Therefore, this paper proposes a way to capitalize on mathematical knowledge about certain categories of convergent strings, previously presented in several scientific papers, by solving exercises and problems applied to the calculation of improper integrals. The paper is addressed to students from groups of excellence in the 12th grade, students from various faculties and teachers of Mathematics who want to improve in this direction and fall into the field of Didactics of Mathematics.

- No. of Pages:8
- Keywords:oral communication; speaking activities; strategies; preparatory year; speaking skills
- Summary/Abstract:Together with passive receptive skills, oral communication remains a vital competence in the academic evolution of a student. The acquisition of this skill in the case of foreign students learning Romanian in the preparatory year is a real challenge. This happens because of the heterogeneity of the students, who do not share the same support or native language and of the students’ need to use this skill as fast as they can in a new social, economic and cultural environment. The present paper intends to focus on some activities that helped the students to improve their oral communication as well as on the difficulties they met during the pandemic academic year 2019-2020.

- Summary/Abstract:In the study we try to demonstrate, as much as possible, the actuality of the moral teachings transmitted in some of the parables from the Gospel in the interpretation of the great scholar Simion Mehedinți. The exegesis and explanations given by Simion Mehedinți in his volume Parabole și învățături din Evanghelie (Parables and Teachings from the Gospel) are so natural in their presentation that they can constitute an example of decoding the Gospel: simple, in point, easy to understand. This paper addresses especially to children who study religion in school. The author is aware of the fact that on the quality of the children today depends the quality of the society tomorrow. It appears as a certain handbook: its virtues and moral efficiency are confirmed by the eight editions that have been published and the author is a guarantee of seriousness, talent and dignity.

- Summary/Abstract:Concerns and anxiety about the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the population can be overwhelming. The social distance, quarantine and self-isolation forced by the new coronavirus add complexity to the situation. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly changed the way people live their lives, bringing uncertainty and disruption to daily routines, economic pressures and social isolation. We are careful not to get sick and are unsure how long the pandemic will last and what will happen next. Over-information, rumors and misinformation can get the situation out of control. All this has negative effects on people's mental health.

- Summary/Abstract:Presence of several generations of clergy and theologians in educational units and initiatives organised, run, and hosted by Eastern Orthodox Christian parishes, monasteries, and spiritual centres is basic factor of development of church subcultures according to tradition, but in contemporary manner. Church sharing soundly state and public responsibility of education youth in confessional and universal values recently depends on the way clergy would adequately and creatively combine civic environment, resources, and sometimes even team and flock, culturally distanced from church ethos, with personal and collective value of theological mystic vocation to embody divine image and reality, and mission to announce Heavenly Kingdom and lead community to salvation with perspective of eternal life. Therefore this study is exploring in qualitative methods of direct and indirect observation, community development from post-communist and post-modern prevention of youth from church life that was unfavourable to join, through an intermediate folk attitude of socialisation, to a kind of responsibility and inclusion reappearing nowadays.

- Summary/Abstract:Sunday schools of émigré communities around the world are units of cultural identity: language, history, and culture. Focused on sustaining a subcultural lifestyle in a set of educational, commemorative, and festive initiatives, those organisations had attracted the attention of historians and anthropologists. Considered to preserve live heritage in risk more actively than original practices at their country of origin, not only because émigré parishes did not suffer through atheism, those cultural units in such extraordinary conditions meet even more urgent educational demands. Religious education in local churches balanced between cultural responsibilities of state and church, in migration is even more valued and practiced, as parish life that represents ethnic and national community. This paper is based on my recent direct observations and pilot personal participations in educational activities of Bulgarian parishes abroad, compared to émigré parishes of other churches and to what researchers had found in their studies through the years and nowadays.

Perspectives of some illustrious researchers on the use of the moral model in school lessons and kindergarten activities are presented. Moral education has a defining role, from an early age, for the formation of attitudes, and moral behavior appropriate to children. Educators must carefully choose the right moral models to present to children, use a teaching strategy that combines modern teaching methods and means, to arouse the interest of preschoolers and achieve optimal results. The use of the moral model in kindergarten activities is of great importance, especially in the formation of moral behavior in preschoolers and even more so in the context of a modern, child-centered education.

All the educational factors have to be involved in a responsible manner, there has to be a real partnership among these factors, a cooperative relationship, a symbiosis which will lead to the development of upstanding human beings, complex personalities who are tolerant, respectful and interested in their personal evolution. But in order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to combine formal education with extracurricular activities. This paper is only the beginning of a process which is intended to stress the need for such activities and the need to raise the awareness of all the educational factors.

Preschool is an essential step in personality development, by individualizing the teaching-learning-assessment process. Self-image is formed starting from knowing and understanding one's own person and then understanding others, it influences our behaviors, so it is important to perceive ourselves as correctly as possible, to develop realistic beliefs about ourselves. The self-assessment process energizes the child's potential, ensuring an upward meaning for intellectual development. The main advantages are felt in the personal plan, the self-evaluation giving the child the possibility to develop his autonomy and to evaluate his achievements in various situations.

- Subject(s):Social Sciences, Education
- Page Range:120-125
- No. of Pages:6
- Keywords:multigrade education; multigrade / simultaneous teaching; direct activity; independent activity
- Summary/Abstract:Every child has the right to be understood and supported in the act of learning. They are different in their developmental rhythms, learning styles, their individual features. But the fact that they come from disadvantaged environments from a territorial, socio-economic and demographic point of view should not be an obstacle in their development and self-development. In these areas, schools and classes with predominantly multigrade teaching are maintained. This type of education means working simultaneously with two, three, four or even five classes, depending on the number of students. Multigrade teaching trains the teacher in a more complicated didactic activity, harmoniously combining the direct activity with the independent activity of the students, gradually and according to well-organized psycho-pedagogical principles, but it does not exempt him from going through the whole curriculum, just like to a single class. In order to give children attending school the same developmental opportunities as others, it is necessary to use the time spent at school extremely efficiently. The experience, professionalism and pedagogical mastery of the teacher will ensure the quality of this type of education.

The classical communication is turned into a multidirectional and polyfunctional one, it becomes an important educational objective, considering that the student is the result of the social interaction.Current society requires that students should be educated one for each other, not one against the other, so that they should find solutions collaborating, not competing. In the educational process, collaboration and competition shouldn't be seen as opposite items, but they should interfere, so that students experience the advantages of each of them.

- No. of Pages:5
- Keywords:integrated approach; STEM; STREAM; teachers; primary education
- Summary/Abstract:The new concept of STREAM education (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) is at the beginning of the road in Romanian education. In the specialized literature at international level we find references and, at the same time, we notice that there is a need for an integrated approach of as many disciplines as possible, not only those of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) but also the slow integration of Religion (STRREAM), History (STRREAMH), Geography (STRREAMHG) etc. At national level, the specialized literature for this field is almost non-existent. The implementation of a STEM curriculum should be a priority of Romanian education, because most future jobs require STEM skills for future employees. A questionnaire applied online in which 101 primary school teachers participated shows that they are eager to implement such a curriculum in the classroom.
