(ARABIC PHONO-GRAMMAR AND ITS RUSSIAN EQUIVALENTS AS A NEW APPROACH IN FL TEACHING (RUSSIAN AND ARABIC IN RUSSIAN AND ARABIC CLASSROOMS))
- Author(s):Nailya G. Mingazova

- Page Range:32-41
- No. of Pages:10
- Keywords:phono-grammar; grammatical system; Arabic and Russian classrooms; Russian; Arabic;
- Summary/Abstract:This article examines the role of minimal linguistic elements and their phonetic changes in the development of the semantic potential, grammatical system, and generative transformational ability of the Russian students in the Arabic classroom and the Arabs in the Russian one. Phonetic changes that serve as a means of differentiating word meanings in the first language level are represented as a connecting link between the first language level and the second one which help students master the mechanism of semantic development of minimal meaningful elements and the methods of generating new words at the second level. The designation of the rules in one language will help to find their exact equivalents in another one, and continue to handle all units in both languages by analogy. The markers obtained in the interaction of the first two language levels are indicative bases of the third, since the syntax is the highest grammatical link which helps morphologically formed minimal elements to be categorized syntactically. So, students can learn the ways of the gender, number, and case markers formation in a foreign language, their syntactic categorization and deductive skills by analogy, since the laws of language are sustained, and what constitutes a word would be a rule for a number of other words, not only in a foreign language, but also in their native language. The audible relation of language levels is always in need of a grammatical system which is able to fulfill the job of facilitating language learning as long as an audible language and its formal display must match in order for students to learn accurate rules of a foreign language. For this task we need a new language system – phono grammar through which students will be able to know the role of minimal meaningful elements in distinguishing word meanings, to learn rules for morphological categorization of already known to students minimal meaningful elements, and to master the relationship of language levels. Phono-grammar system, acting as a whole progressive principle of an audible and formal language structure helps students to generate their own words and sentences by analogy, which develops their generative transformational ability. This system will allow them to learn an accurate audible language.

- Summary/Abstract:The design of gaming learning systems is becoming a common phenomenon in modern pedagogical practice. The motivating effect of the use of gaming tools in education is recognized by many researchers. Geomification is successfully used in teaching children and adults. The classical approach to the development of gaming systems is based on the theory of narrative, which is built as the path of the Hero in the works of K.-G. Young, D. Campbell and other scientists. This concept defines the existing typologies of "players". R. Bartle distinguishes the psychotypes of players: Achivers, Killers, Explorers, Socializes. There are also classifications that take into account borderline types. Our experience in the design of gaming training systems indicates a lack of typologies of "players" for the Russian environment. So, there are grounds for singling out a hero who does not take any active action. Such heroes exist in Russian fairy tales (for example, Emelya) or in Russian classical literature (for example, Oblomov), but this type is not reduced to a primitive desire to get something for nothing ("for free"). Such a character has a deep, religious meaning. The hero of the Western (eudemonic) consciousness hopes exclusively for his own strength, is active, is in a state of constant tension, even struggle, and the "Russian" hero is contemplative, he is open to the world, ready to accept his help. The rejection of the "self", the trust in the higher powers (Providence, Fate, God) are characteristic features of the Russian soteriological consciousness. They should be taken into account in the practice of developing training gaming systems in order to preserve national self-identification, especially in children's and youth audiences.

- Summary/Abstract:The development of the functional-semantic (Kozhevnikova L.P., Podrutchnaja L.J.) and linguocultural (Barkhudarova E. L., Ershova L.V., Makarowska O. ) approaches in the methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language in domestic and foreign universities had an impact on the selection of means and methods of teaching students. One of the directions for improving the content of teaching is associated with the expansion of the use of the poetic text as a didactic unit. In the practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language, the use of these didactic tools is aimed at solving various problems: strengthening cognitive processes in the mastering of a second language (Grosjean, F, Eirlys E., Davies A. et al.), satisfying students' interest in learning the language as " the transmitter of culture "(Sadıkoğlua S.), achieving a full understanding of Russian speech (Burykin AA), etc. The article proposes a system of tasks for the analysis of the poetic text in classes with foreign students, which includes a set of consistently built educational tasks: from reading (phonetic and orthoepic analysis, analysis of difficulties) through lexical analysis, analysis of grammatical and syntactic forms, difficult cases of usage - to the perception of the artistic image incorporated in the text (alignment of associative series, the selection of analogies from the native language, etc.).

- Summary/Abstract:The drawbacks of the Dialect Subcorpus of the National Russian Language Corpus are obvious, therefore dialectologists in numerous scientific centres started creating regional dialect corpus. Omsk dialectologists have collected some unique material that is to be presented as corpus of texts. The novelty of the project consists in the fact that the corpus will be the first large-scale dialect source reflecting peculiar features of the folk speech in the polyethnic Omsk Irtysh region, which will present the discourse characteristics in the new format - the format of text, significantly large in terms of themes and genres. It will present the materisl in phonetic spelling, and contain extensive lingua-cultural and extralinguistic comments, audio and video illustrations for the texts, which are different in themes and represent various language personalities. The presentation includes a sample of the recorded speech of a Siberian Russian-Estonian dialect speaker that demonstrates topic-based notation of a polyphonic text with featuring the key words of the dialect discourse (the text contains about 10000 words).

- Summary/Abstract:The XVIII century in Russia had become a new stage in the development of science and education. At this time, the achievements of European scientists are being creatively revised, the Academy of Sciences and the University are being opened, scientific works are being actively published. M. V. Lomonosov, V. E. Adodurov, A. A. Barsov, V. K. Trediakovsky, A. P. Sumarokov, V. N. Tatishchev, N. G. Kurganov, V. P. Svetov, P. I. Sokolov, A. S. Nikolsky, Apollos are encyclopedic scientists of the XVIII century who had made a revolution in Russian linguistics. In this article we review the achievements of the linguists in the XVIII century on the field of the doctrine about the means and methods of word formation.The scientists in the Enlightenment had seen the system device of word formation, understood the difference between morphological, word-formative, formative and word-changing levels, engaged in the development of the terminological apparatus of derivatology and morphemics. At this time, many important word-formative definitions appeared. It is important that during this period an attempt to comprehend and define the very essence of word formation was made, scientists began to differentiate the meaning of root and affixal morphemes. M. V. Lomonosov compared the word-formative capabilities of different languages and came to the conclusion about the wealth of word-formative resources of the Russian language, and Apollos conducted word-formative analysis. Thus, the doctrine of the means and methods of Russian word formation in the XVIII century had become relevant and rapidly developed.

- Summary/Abstract:Phrases and their syntactic meanings in Old Russian were very different from contemporary language. In the course of the historical development there were shifts of meaning of some cases. These changes were caused the attempt of the language to express certain relations in a more accurate way. Expressing of certain meanings by simple, non-prepositional cases was gradually reduced; simple cases were replaced by prepositional cases. Historical study of genitive form´s use enables us to hypothesise their original semantics.

- Summary/Abstract:Among the most significant current issues in the field of structural, systematic and communicative description of lexical meanings are identifying pragmatically marked lexical items, classification of various micro-components comprising the larger structure of the pragmatic macro-component within the lexical meaning, and examining their communicative potential. The solution of these theoretical problems is considered as a necessary condition of creating appropriate models for lexicographic description and typology of Pragmatically Marked Lexicon within active type dictionaries or/ and in special computer databases. The article explores the integral model of lexical meaning, including pragmatic macro components; describes the structure, content, variable potential and implementation of pragmatic semantics in different types of discourse; analyzes the ways how pragmatic semantics can be lexicographically presented in dictionaries of different types; develops the concept of lexicographical interpretation of pragmatically labeled items within the Russian lexical system. The article considers ideological semantics and ways of its lexicography in the database of pragmatically labeled vocabulary. The applied component of the project is creating a computer database of pragmatically marked vocabulary, available for a wide range of users: researchers, linguistic experts, interpreters and teachers of the Russian language. The described computer database of pragmatically marked vocabulary is based on the Russian and international experience in corpus and computational linguistics.

- Summary/Abstract:Information-analytical articles are an integral product on the media market. They not only inform society about the latest events in the country and abroad, but also give the author the opportunity to express his judgement of these events and the ongoing processes. This opinion is often expressed through the use of a language game that perform the evaluative function, and at the same time a large impact factor on the recipient. Effective impact of the media is one of the key factors in the struggle for the audience, since in many ways their existence depends on it. In our article we will present how effective mean of influence is the language game, focusing on its varieties. The interpretation of this concept is ambiguous and two main approaches to the language game can be distinguished. Some researchers consider the language game to be a deliberate violation of the norm, others see it as a deviation from certain rules, but within the limits of the norm. Despite this distinction, the notion of a language game, in modern linguistics, refers to the sphere of verbal communication, where it is viewed as a rather decoration of speech, which usually has the character of pun, joke, etc. That is why the language game is presented in the language of modern media quite widely and diversely, performing, above all, two functions: evaluative and linguistic.

- Keywords:a word-formation field; a family of words; an emotional concept; anger; the Russian language;
- Summary/Abstract:The word-formation field is a structured system of the categorical derivational values that reflect cognitive characteristics of the concept. Two microfields are distinguished in the structure of the wordformation field of the emotional concept ‘anger’ [gnev]. They are an ‘Action’ microfield and an ‘Attribute’ one. This is due to the significance of its cognitive characteristics associated with expression of its movement as well as its nature. Other microfields, which are typical for the structure of the word-formative field of this emotional concept, have not received proper derivational development. In general, we can observe a significant reduction in its derivatives. In our opinion, this is due, on the one hand, to the universalization tendency and to some simplification in perception of the emotional state which comes down to a semantic triad: ‘to experience an emotion or a state’ – ‘to bring someone to the given emotion or state’- ‘to get oneself into the given emotion or state’. In modern Russian the most common derivatives have a more generalized meaning by co-opting the semantics of the obsolete derivatives. On the other hand, the decrease in the number of the words used in speech can be ascribed to the development of a complex interaction with synonyms that are members of other families of words.

- Keywords:rhetorical text; persuasion; text linguistics; communicative speech register; text formation; selection and combination; argument arrangement of the text;
- Summary/Abstract:The article presents an analysis of mechanisms for arranging a specific text type – a rhetorical one with persuasion as the basic typological property. G.A. Zolotova’s concept of communicative grammar with the communicative speech register as a unit of text formation is considered as the methodological basis for the research. Monologic speech registers (reproductive, informative, generitive) are specific ways of mental and sensory fixation of fragments of the world picture, in which various levels of speaker’s abstraction of reality appear. From the point of view of the text linguistics the procedure of communicative and grammatical analysis includes two main stages: 1) discretizing a text into text formation units; 2) conceptualizing the continuum of the text. Thus, the first stage of the analysis requires reconstructing how the addressee chooses a communicative speech register from a paradigm variety of the superphrase text components. The second stage of the analysis involves the study of combinatorics of communicative registers, which allows us to observe both the syntagmatic construction of the linear structure of the text as well as its argument arrangement providing persuasion, and, accordingly, typological originality of the rhetorical text. The research has resulted in identifying principles of selection and combination of the text components and the models of argument arrangement demonstrating communicative and grammatical specificity of the rhetorical text.

- Keywords:Internet; feminine nouns; media space; morphological derivation; femininity;
- Summary/Abstract:The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the systemic organization of derivative nouns of women in the modern Russian language, the totality of which is considered as a subcategory within the framework of the word-forming category "femininity". The subject of the study are feminine nouns - nouns of females, formed from personal masculine nouns. The relevance of the study is due to a reconsideration of the role and position of women in society, which led to a discussion about the need for the formation of correlative denominations of the feminine gender for professional and social belonging. The modern media space that we use as a source of material is a fertile ground for generating occasional lexicon, including feminine nouns. The word formation subcategory of female nouns is considered in the article, ten major word formation types forming the core and periphery of this category are revealed, the reasons for the appearance of newly formed feminine nouns and actualization of existing in the language are indicated. It was concluded that the extreme variety of the suffix means of expressing the category "femininity", on the one hand, promotes the active formation of feminine nouns, on the other, makes it difficult to secure a definite form in the language, which could subsequently lead to the codification of feminine neologisms. The prospects of the future research of feminine nouns within the framework of the derivational aspect are outline

- Keywords:Odoevsky; romanticism; female images; tradition; comparative analysis;
- Summary/Abstract:The paper is aimed at revealing stylistic continuity between romanticism and symbolism in Russian literature by doing a case study. The works of a prominent representative of Russian romanticism, theorist and innovator V.F. Odoevsky as well as the prose of symbolist writers serve as material for analysis. Images of women and the specificity of their depiction by the above mentioned authors are selected as a research object. The research has shown that although the symbolists did not proclaim V.F. Odoevsky their literary precursor and his name did not emerge in symbolist manifestos and theoretical works (as in case of F. Tyutchev and A. Fet), it is from his conceptually thematic and stylistic trials that one can draw “straight lines” to symbolist experiments clearly illustrating the continuity between two literary directions and confirming the important role of V.F. Odoevsky in the Russian literary process. The analysis of some prose works by V.F. Odoevsky allowed to reveal, for instance, the following recurrent (with some variations) female types: woman possessing arcane knowledge or/and magic powers; woman having dual nature – human and mystical; woman from the picture coming alive. The noted images, depicted highly originally, demonstrate, however, the indubitable influence of Hermeticism (including alchemical symbolism), Schelling’s philosophy and the work of German romanticists. The resemblance between female images in the prose of V.F. Odoevsky and the most frequently encountered ones in the symbolism becomes apparent when making a comparative analysis. It is revealing that semantic accumulations of the images at the beginning of the XX century are carried out in general in line with the directions traced by romanticists and, in the first place, by V.F. Odoevsky – an appeal to mythology, Hermeticism, theosophy in a broad sense; an aspiration to embody artistically the idea of synthesis of arts, religion and philosophy.

- Summary/Abstract:Smysloporozhdayuschy process is associated with the speech nomination, implemented in the language and poetic imagery (metaphor, epithet, allegory, symbol, etc.) live communication, journalistic text, artistic literature. Actualization of meanings and their interpretation depend on the General speech culture, a specific situation, belonging of the speech personality to the social group, on many facts of the state of society. Given the dependence of lexical and syntactic contexts on grammatical constructions, emotional assessments, it is possible to achieve greater accuracy in the transmission of meanings, despite the different level of perception of the listener. The article deals with the questions of nomination and interpretation in the diachronic and synchronic aspects, changes in the semantics of the word from "live impressions" generating to "General meanings", forming speech well-established formulas, clichés, stamps. Comparative-historical method, comparative method, analysis of the functions reflected by the lexical composition and the nature of syntactic relations, allows to reveal the semasiology of words, phraseology, figurative expression, to explain the causes of semantic changes, actualization of forgotten meanings and the emergence of new meanings. The study is based on the material of the classics of Russian literature M. Tsvetaeva, A. Tvardovskiy, M. Prishvin, and other authors.

In our opinion the special attention in the frameworks of the above courses should be given to the analysis of connotative words which are used in different contexts and situations of communication. The paper deals with functioning of the invective vocabulary in the modern speech of Russian native speakers, variants of its analysis by linguists during linguistic examination and evaluation by lawyers in the course of judicial examination. There is considered the notion of decent/indecent form of expression, as the presence of negative evaluation which exists in the meaning of a great number of emotive meanings leads to the fact that native speakers perceive such words as offensive and hence insulting, however the notion of offense in ordinary perception does not coincides with the legal one.

- Keywords:Russian language, adjective; semantics; grammatical; lexical and grammatical category;
- Summary/Abstract:The adjective as a class of words is characterized by its semantic, grammatical and functional heterogeneity, which is the reason for specifying a variety of classifications. The division of adjectives into lexical and grammatical categories is now recognized by many scientists as a tentative attribute. Moreover this trend is often highlighted by Russian language teachers at schools while revealing students’ challenges of determining categories of adjectives. There is no consensus among experts on the number of these categories, and most importantly – the principles of their allocation. The development of categories of Russian adjectives seems to be even more challenging issue. One could hardly find references to this process in the scientific literature, although, of course, some observations on this topic can be found in textbooks on the historical grammar of the Russian language, as well as in articles with reflections on the connection between the semantics of the adjective and its category, while the grammatical features of the adjectives remain unaddressed. Due to the fact that the content plane always depends on the expression plane, the description of both the lexical and grammatical categories can not be realized through the analysis of either only the content or only the formal side of the linguistic units. The purpose of our study is to determine the bulk of lexical and grammatical (word-formative, morphological, syntactic) factors supporting the differences between groups of adjectives in the Old Russian language.

- Summary/Abstract:The analysis of linguistic means of verbalization of a perceptual image thunderstorm in B.L. Pasternak’s poetic works is presented in the article. Primary focus is on text production potentialities of the studied perceptual units and author's individual features of the poet’s imagery. In the context of the offered research the perceptual imagery is considered as a subordinate concept in relation to a verbal imagery. The bases for separating of perceptual units is their ability "to create" a perceptual imagery (the esthetic basis) and "to mark" a perception proposition in the text (a proposition as linguistic model of a situation) (the semantic basis). Study material is original poems written by B.L. Pasternak in which contexts with semantics of thunderstorm were revealed by the continuous sampling method. In the course of work methods of the semantic and contextual analysis, elements of the linguistic and stylistic analysis of the literary text were also used. The image of a thunderstorm belongs to the brightest and significant perceptual images which are found in B.L. Pasternak's poetry – there are also nightingale, lilac, candle, kiss, etc. – and it is a complex image, along with such as rain, city, garden, tears, sobbing, etc. In the course of verbalization of a perceptual image of a thunderstorm such expressive means as metaphors, embodiments, comparisons are used

- No. of Pages:6
- Keywords:evaluation; connotation; emotionality; expressiveness; functional and stylistic characteristics; imagery;
- Summary/Abstract:The report is devoted to the evaluation-reflection in the meaning of the word logical and philosophical category of value. Evaluation is considered as one of the components of connotation along with emotionality – reflection in the meaning of the word psychological categories (emotions, feelings, moods), manifested in the expression of emotional attitude of the subject (speaking or writing) to the object, causing him positive/negative feelings (‘pleasure’ – ‘displeasure’, ‘acceptance’ – ‘repulsion’). Identify the differential features of these closely related yet not identical components of connotative meaning. Evaluation and emotionality are separated from expressiveness – the expression of the meaning of ‘very’, that is, from the manifestation of not qualitative but quantitative attitude, which, according to the author, is included in the denotative value, as well as from the functional and stylistic characteristics relating not to the semasiological but to the sociolinguistic sphere. The status of imagery as a phenomenon of semantic derivation, the production of portable values, which does not apply to connotation («co-values»), although it is one of the means of generating evaluation. Deals with the connection semantics evaluation with a descriptive (informative) value. The author believes that these syncretic phenomena are part of a special lexico-semantic category – sinkretsemia.

- Keywords:The Prague Linguistic Circle; communicative grammar; speaker; communicative situation; predicative unit; text;
- Summary/Abstract:The article presents the comparative analysis of the basic syntax Prague linguistic positions and of G. A. Zolotova’s communicative-functional grammar. The main ideas that characterize the Prague theory include attention to the function of language units, to the speaker, to the situation of utterance, recognition of the sentence as the main object of functional syntax. G. A. Zolotova’s grammar distinguishes the anthropocentricity, the unity of the form, the meaning and the function in language units and also the textcentricity. G. A. Zolotova repeatedly turned to the ideas of the PLC, in particular to the functional perspective statement, but they have not been a starting point for herself and her followers to date, so it can be argued that these theories, developed at different times and independently of each other, approach the question of the dependence of statements on the situation and the position of the speaker, the necessity of taking these parameters into account in the analysis from different sides. This same idea is developed in M. A. K. Halliday’s systemic-functional grammar. If V. Mathesius find the sentence as the main object of the functional grammar, nevertheless G. A. Zolotova (although she emphasizes the theory of sentences models and its modifications) find the text as the main object of the communicative grammar because the text is the language unit of highest level in which the speaker realizes his ideas and in which is interpreted the meaning of other linguistic units. The analysis of the theoretical positions in the article is accompanied by examples from Russian and Czech non-functional texts.

- Language:Russian
- Subject(s):Syntax, Eastern Slavic Languages, Transformation Period (1990 - 2010)
- Page Range:379-385
- No. of Pages:7
- Keywords:modern Russian language; innovation; combination of words; simple sentence; "democratization" of syntax; syncretism; analyticism;
- Summary/Abstract:Rapid changes in Russian society in the last three decades, its democratization and other social, psychological factors are indirectly reflected in language and speech, including at the syntactic level. An important result of the action of various factors is the mass entry into the literary and speech use of innovations that require analysis and evaluation. The purpose of the research is to identify the most active innovative changes in modern Russian speech, to establish their character, to capture in them the manifestation of the main trends in the development of the syntactic system. The subject of observations and analysis in the work – new syntactic phenomena in the structure of phrases and simple sentences that arose in Russian speech at the end of the twentieth century and are actively manifested in the first decades of the XXI century. The main material was collected by the author himself and was extracted from newspaper texts of modern Russian periodicals, from radio and television. Examples from published scientific works were used. The most active changes in the structure of the phrase are analyzed: transposition (destruction in the phrase of the control connection and development of the coordination connection), innovative shifts, often representing anomalies, expansion of prepositions in subordinate phrases. The most important changes in the structure of a simple sentence are revealed: segmentation, actualization of the necessary part of the statement, compression, parceling, innovative processes in the functioning of impersonal sentences, which are a bright national specificity of the Russian language. The considered innovative changes indicate the manifestation of the main trends: the «democratization» of Russian syntax, the tendency to the development of syncretism, the trend of strengthening of analysis. The results obtained in the work should undoubtedly find practical application in linguodidactics, including in the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language in the Czech environment.

- Summary/Abstract:The paper is devoted to Russian and Czech verbal nouns with a word-formation meaning „person“. The author bases her study on Russian Grammar 1980, according to which she identifies and gives a detailed description of a group of Russian suffixes which are used to form a masculine gender of verbal nouns (e.g. the suffixes -тель, -ник, -чик/-щик, -ун/-юн). The paper also provides a list of Russian-Czech suffixal equivalents (or non-equivalent suffixes) and indicates if these suffixes are productive or non-productive. The Czech suffixes are chosen from The Dictionary of Affixes Used in Czech (Slovník afixů používaných v češtině). Special attention is paid to the formation of feminine nouns from nouns of masculine gender, to the derivational models of the Russian and Czech languages, and to the sequential/non-sequential formation of feminine nouns in Russian and Czech.

Similarities and differences in pattern images in the two linguocultures has been considered. Similarities and coincidences of the pattern images in the Bulgarian and Russian languages are the reflection of the similarity of thinking, observation and rethinking of reality by the representatives of the Bulgarian and Russian linguocultures. Zoomorphic images, found only in one of the two languages, are the result of historical, geographical, cultural and other features of the native speakers. Zoomorphic images that differ in national specifics, embodied in the minds of the native speakers in the form of patterns and reflecting the national perceptions of the surrounding world, are represented in the pattern (right) parts of zoomorphic figurative comparisons. They form the ethnocultural originality of the comparative construction.

- Page Range:403-411
- No. of Pages:9
- Keywords:subject; grammatical agent; sentence structure; expression plan; content plan; one-part sentences; comparative analysis;
- Summary/Abstract:In modern linguistics the category of the subject is primarily connected with the syntactic plan of the language and serves to identify the producer of the action or the carrier of the feature. It should be borne in mind that in the structure of the sentence, depending on the logical and grammatical features, semantic content, communicative prerequisites, we can distinguish a grammatical and semantic subject. At a new level of grammatical abstraction, the grammatical subject is usually the subject, the active producer of the action, which in the sentence is a syntactically independent component. While the semantic subject, which is an agent, though expresses the producer of the action, but in the context of the sentence is opposed to the patient and does not always perform the function of the subject. This discrepancy between the grammatical and semantic subject is due to the asymmetry of semantics and form, since the grammatical subject is the category of the expression plane, and the semantic subject is the category of the content plan. Thus, the category of the subject is represented by a multidimensional syntactic concept integrating different subtypes of the subject, conditioned by a certain asymmetry of meaning and function. The article will focus the attention to the semantic subject and the ways of its implementation in Russian and Czech languages. First of all, we will consider cases of violation of the parallelism of the content plan and the expression plan, that is, those constructions in which the semantic subject and the grammatical subject do not coincide or in which the subject as part of sentence is structurally absent. Examples will be used as an illustrative material from the National Corpus of the Russian language and the Czech National Corpus.

- Keywords:literary creativity of Catherine II; the educated absolutism; Russian;
- Summary/Abstract:In article the thesis about a special role of Russian (as one of Slavic languages) in the educational doctrine of Catherine II is approved. During the entire periods of the reign the empress understood value of Russian for education of citizens. Unlike French as aristocracy language, Russian symbolized an extra class, universal message of the empress to the people. In the 1760th years it was shown in need of the translations of important modern books when Catherine translated from French on Russian "Velizary" Marmontel. At the beginning of 1770 she as the publicist protected the Russian values in the "Antidote" written in French and addressed to the western reader, and showed knowledge of the Russian customs in the comedies which are staged a bit later. After return from the material collected by him Catherine in the 1780th made of an expedition of professor P.S. Pallas and published "Comparative dictionaries of all languages and adverbs", and a specific place was held here by Slavic languages. In the same time she studied the Russian history, starting introduction of a national education system (I. Madariaga). Transferring "a dispute on ancient and new authors", significant for the French consciousness, to the course "ancient" and "new" Russia (Yu.V. Stennik), Catherine has found "golden mean" between mythological contents and available statement in a fairy tale genre. In 1781 she composes in Russian at the same time and "The Russian alphabet" and the "Tale of the tsarevitch Hlor" approving thoughts of dependence of assessment of behavior of the hero on possession by it of language skills. And if in "The Russian alphabet" language appears as the instrument of increase in personal success, then in "The tale of the tsarevitch Hlor" language – the tool of the correct education. In the following fairy tale by the empress Fevey shows already itself brilliant language proficiency not in sense of rhetorical abilities, as in the Alphabet, and in value of management of the yard − as obligatory performance by the hero of a condition for successful reign. The image in fairy tales of dialogues of heroes with the magician Felitsey-Ekaterina or the grandee Reshemyslom-Potemkin transmitted a special essence of Ekaterina's education – through educational mentoring of the Russian citizens, obligatory in the person of the state.

- Summary/Abstract:The «sleeping beauty» plot is rendered by Charles Perrault as a courtly one. Turning to this fairy plot, the Brothers Grimm find artistic «balance» between the magic and human or everyday motivations of certain actions. V.A. Zhukovsky provides only a cursory rendering of the imagery, but tries to picture his characters as individuals in the context of this fairy-tale plot; at the same time, the poet focuses on artistic investigation of the magic. Against this background, A.S. Pushkin performs remarkable synthesis. He artistically combines folkloric materials with Christian myth and literary works, thus creating conception of love and marriage within the spirit of the national culture.

- Summary/Abstract:Judgment and treatment by the Russian writers of an evangelical order of Christ are presented in the article: "… if don't address and you won't be as children, you won't enter the Kingdom of Heaven". Many people reflected over a question: what does it mean "to be as children". Their private answers noted a way of comprehension of the general truth the Russian national consciousness. In N. Fedorov's works being a child – the following to the blameless nature of the child conducting to family relations of all people. In V. Zenkovsky's understanding childishness – the embodiment of the original spiritual life keeping communications with the Father Nebesny. L. Tolstoy saw in an evangelical appeal refusal of any violence, innocence the evil, ability to forgiveness and life at God's will. For F. Dostoyevsky childishness – the measure of moral solvency of the person, that saving beginning which grants him a possibility of redemption promotes his spiritual regeneration. In F. Sologub's creativity childishness in a man is the embodiment of innocence, joyful and fresh acceptance of the world, spiritual dominant, which defines all his subsequent course of life. The loss of these properties of soul inevitably conducts to an evil celebration. Z. Gippius perceived this property of the personality as sincere mobility as existence in her of "the sacred law" – conscience. S. Durylin appreciated at "great eternally children's beginning" show of Divine light with its inviolable purity, truthfulness, joy. Judgments of the Russian word artists confirm unconditional recognition of childishness as a moral sample for organization by the person of the life as criterion for evaluation of her spiritual solvency.

- Summary/Abstract:The phenomenon of “Synthesis of arts” being productive in Europe during the Romantic period bore completely unexpected fruit at the turn of XXth century. As a rule of thumb, periods of crisis and changes are destructive on different levels and “crave” (Vyach. Ivanov) for synthesis. The turn of XXIth age is not an exception. This article defines specific causes and conditions for calling synthesis into life (fictional, interliterary, particularly synthesis of genres, and, furthermore, convergence of journalism, philosophy, sociology and philology). In this sense the synthesis of music and fictional literature is extremely graphic, it can be seen in works of old masters of prose and popular poets who represents “author’s song” (Russian contemporary folk music) or rockmusicians and rock-poets. Also of a great importance are the new flash fiction and poetry of modern age answering on the questions of today. The synthesis of philosophy, sociology, journalism and pictorial art is the most graphic in artistic heritage of Alexander Zinoviev, who has no match in today’s generation. The study of “synthesis of arts” phenomenon and its use in individual style of contemporary authors is not only interesting, but also fresh and meaningful. This will be shown in the analysis of particular literary works of contemporary authors. The synthesis in contemporary Russian culture differs from what it was in the first third of XXth century. The change of “exchanging” and “storing” information format leads to the fictional product that often comes out to be a surrogate pleasing the lowest tastes, without any aesthetic value. The question of value is often about creating “reputation” determining commercial worth of the product and not about artistic evaluation.

Block’s levels of artistic world perception influenced the poetics of «The Twelve» as a system of iconic and iconographic film codes: the synthesis of corporality and convention, the principles of film montage poetics, change of planes and perspective, simultaneous space, colour, light and sound codes, and the synthesis of «film-eye» and «radio-eye».

- Keywords:White émigré literature; works of Mikhail Osorgin; works of Nina Berberova;
- Summary/Abstract:The White émigrés writers were concerned with mission to conserve the national culture saw a tragedy of their generation in being isolated from their native land. One of the ways to arrange their Dasein was a Nativist idea of redemption through being closer to land. Mikhail Osorgin and Nina Berberova pertained to different generations of the émigré writers and gave their own variants of the in his cycles of short stories titled Memoirs from a Vegetable Garden and Dweller’s Letters, included in Incidents in the Green World collection (1938), and in his novella A Free Mason (1937), Osorgin, creates his ontological utopia of living in a small cabin. Moreover, he implements it in a life-as-a-work-of-art approach, by moving to a real cabin in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, near Paris and tending to his vegetable plot and garden together with his wife. Existence of both the author and his character, Yegor Tetekhin, comply with the masonic ideal: an eccentric gardener and bibliophile arranges his spiritual existence close to nature, a “cultural home” as an alternative to foreign and destructive forces of civilization. Nina Berberova’s novel The Last Ones and the First Ones (1929), addresses life of ordinary Russians in France, their arrangements for the here-and-now life on land as an opposition to a utopia of return to Russia. The author creates her own myth of saving the unnoticed generation of the Russian emigration and then follows it herself: she moves to the countryside and starts a farmstead. Similarly, Berberova’s characters save themselves from meaninglessness of existence by absorbing themselves in collective agricultural work somewhere in Provence. Family values and domestication of alien space allow the émigrés to gain “aerial roots”, which the author understands in a spiritual way: keeping distinctive internal national identity will allow reconstructing their cultural motherland in the alien land.

- Keywords:‘Alice in Wonderland’; Lewis Carroll; Duchess; Queen; Victorian;
- Summary/Abstract:The article highlights the analysis of transformations of female images in the three well-known translations of “‘Alice in Wonderland”’ by Lewis Carroll: Vladimir Nabokov’s (1923), N.M. Demurova’s (1965) and B.V. Zakhoder’s (1972). Each translated text of the famous fairy tale is original. If the works of Demurova and Zakhoder enjoyed tremendous popularity in the Soviet Union, Nabokov's translation came to the Russian reader only after perestroika and to this day causes heated discussions among the numerous admirers of ‘Alice.’ The rendering of the character names and places presents a particular difficulty in the translation, as well as the English context itself. In this regard, it is interesting to consider the artistic features of verbal portraits of female characters: Alice herself, her sisters, the Duchess and the Queen. The three masters approached the interpretation of the Alice image, the prototype of which was Alice Liddell, in their own way. As you know, Nabokov renamed Alice in Anya, Demurova retained her Englishness, subtly emphasizing the mentality of the little Victorian, and Zakhoder turned her into an inquisitive girl, interested in everything in the world. Each Russian version presents witty parodies, subtle idioms, elegant wordplay, funny epithets, designed to replace Carroll’s unique style. In Nabokov’s translation the scene is laid in pre-revolutionary Russia. Demurova paid special attention to preserving the original, and Zakhoder called his translation a retelling, although he treated Carroll's text not less carefully.

- Keywords:job interview; discourse markers; terms; professional vocabulary; barbarisms;
- Summary/Abstract:The paper provides an overview of linguistic features of business discourse (sourcing and employment), in which a communicative center is presented as an interview of a recruiter with a job candidate. Terms, professional vocabulary and barbarisms from various institutional spheres serve as discourse markers of speech strategies of the recruiter (interviewer) and the job candidate (interviewee), which is determined by extralinguistic features and interprofessional nature of the discourse. Recruiters use the terms primarily to assess professional competence of job candidates while job candidates demonstrate a command of professional vocabulary for self-presentation with hidden self-promotion. The paper presents examples of four job interviews with job candidates from different career fields; the ratio of the number of terms is given. A distinguishing characteristics of the discourse under study is the active use of such a group of special vocabulary as professional terms including barbarisms mainly borrowed from other languages (predominantly, from English) and not yet fully assimilated in the Russian language. It is noted that the boundaries between terms and professional vocabulary, professional vocabulary and barbarisms are relatively flexible. The study reveals the reasons why communicants frequently gain advantage of such vocabulary; the fundamental role of extralinguistic factors is displayed.

- Summary/Abstract:Toponyms are the carriers of cultural and historical information, important for teaching native and foreign language. The Kremlin is widely known in Russia and abroad. This example examines important theoretical issues related to the structure of onomastic semantics, the motivation for the names of intracity objects and the determination of the linguistic and cultural significance of precedent toponyms. The purpose of the study is to describe the lexico-semantic features and linguistic and cultural value and significance of the toponym of the Kremlin in the mentality of Russian speakers and foreigners. The main function of place names is address. Most toponyms perform this single function. The second function is the verbalization of cultural signs. In this case, the ethno-cultural semantics of the proper name is formed. The third function is emotional expressive. Performing this function, toponyms acquire an emotional-evaluative connotation. Scientists are discussing the semantics / asemanticity of toponyms. To resolve this dispute, it is necessary to study the functioning of toponyms, their perception by different groups of native speakers. It is also necessary to take into account the perception and assessment of foreigners who do not know about the historical town-planning tradition of Medieval Russia, for them the Kremlin is a symbol of Moscow and Russia. For non-native speakers, foreign place names are asemantic, if they are not precedent and world famous objects.

- Summary/Abstract:Since 2001, the Unified State Exam was introduced in Russia as a form of a final examination for the secondary schools, the results of which may be used to apply to the higher education. The problem with which the members of expert commission that reviews Russian language exam's papers encounter, is the correct error qualification problem, since disputes between experts' grades may be the reason of the biased review of examinee's paper. There are several reasons for ambiguous error qualification: different interpretation of errors in so-called school and higher education grammars; mixed linguistics phenomenons that make the precise qualification of error difficult; disputes between linguists about the status of morphological derivation errors etc. Experts, while reviewing papers, are guided primarily by the “Methodical recommendations on grading the completion of essays” made in accordance with the Thematic work plan of Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements edited by I.P. Tsybul'ko. However, error identification recommendations do not always contain enough information that can qualify such errors explicitly. The aim of this article is to clarify and concretize some of the error's definitions in order to correctly qualify and minimize them when reviewing creative writing tasks in State Final Attestation in Russian language. The descriptions of the most common errors encountered in examinees' papers – opthographic, grammatic, speech, factual ones etc. - are undertaken. The examples of errors are given and their possible interpretations by the members of expert commission are described.

The study of a certain linguistic identity and identification is also important in a foreign audience in the process of teaching and studying Russian language. - Keywords:political discourse; linguoculturology; Soviet realities; sovietism; teaching Russian as a foreign language; linguocognitive analysis; linguoculturological analysis; metaphoricity;
- Summary/Abstract:The language of the Soviet era in many respects reflects the reality not only of everyday use of language for communicative purposes, but also of its ideological and ideologized side - the politicization of everyday communication in Soviet reality. The article claims to differentiate by means of linguocultural and linguocognitive methods of researching the political discourse of the original, initial values of the analyzed material from their Soviet constructs. Typical examples are the Soviet aphorisms, metaphors and phraseological units of Lingua Imperii Sovietici (the term of Khlebda), reflecting the realities of the Soviet world and differing from „their“ later modifications in the post-Soviet era by attributes of directivity, ideology, literalness or manipulativeness. For this type of political discourse, in general, the multifacetedness of both linguoculturological and linguocognitive models is typical. According to Chudinov, this specific feature of political discourse reflects the features of modern reality, the specifics of human understanding and perception of a given reality, which are not determined by contemporary experience and their associative basis is often based on historical experience. On the basis of the above, it can be concluded that a metaphor – the key link in the category and conceptualization of the world in human co-existence – does not possess empirical content that native speakers and specific national mentality can translate into metaphorical images. Metaphor is a specific concentrate of emotional, mental and cognitive activity of a person. Based on our research, in many cases the student's identification of historical metaphorical images in a historical context is exaggerated, for, for example, the constructs of Sovietism are often analogous to the original Russian expression in a formal aspect.

- Page Range:570-576
- No. of Pages:7
- Keywords:linguoculturology; cultural code; code system; linguistic picture of the world; modern culture; language units;
- Summary/Abstract:There is an attempt to analyze the cultural codes of the city and country space within the framework of the linguistic picture of the world of the Russian people in this research. The interaction of the modern resident of the capital with the surrounding urban environment and the structure of this interaction seems to be an actual, but almost undeveloped topic, in connection with which the novel "Text", published in 2017 and describing the events of the second decade of the 21st century, was selected for analysis. Description of urban landscapes, elements of space in their relationship with the heroes of the novel reflect and interpret the realities of modern culture, creating a certain code system. Deciphering cultural codes and restoring the associated cultural contexts seems to be the most urgent task of linguoculturology. Using the method of continuous sampling, language units containing cultural codes were identified from the text, their semantics and functions were identified in the context of the novel, and their linguocultural significance in the formation of the reader's worldview and attitude to the linguistic picture of the world as a whole.

- Keywords:Pushkinisms; means; base unit; press;
- Summary/Abstract:The author concentrates his attention on Pushkinisms, which function nowadays as linguistic units, that serve as a means of evaluation of a large amount of events today. This confirms the well-known quote of A. Grigoryev: "Pushkin is our all". Pushkinisms get reevaluated in any communicational situation in the form of the most authoritative assertions. The above-mentioned attitude of the nation towards A.S. Pushkin and his literary heritage is based on the specifics of Russian culture and namely the literature-centrism and deep esteem for the literature itself. These characteristics of Russian culture can be traced centuries into the past and often find their embodiment in Russian proverbs. This role of Russian literature in Russian spiritual life shows itself in the natural trust of the Russians towards Russian writers, the fact proof of which can be found in the daily press, where evaluation of individual events, people as well as other facts can be found. In this article the author shows the literature centrism and Pushkin centrism of Russian culture based on the analyses of concrete texts that deal with a wide range of present-day events. Special attention is focused on the presentday political context dominated by the theme of the confrontation of Russia and the West. We have come to conclusion that Pushkinisms can in fact be used to evaluate all and any affairs and occurrences today be they a matter of everyday life, as well as of social, culture or political character. The article concentrates on political as well as polemic context where the Pushkinisms take up new specific evaluative power. The above-mentioned ethno-cultural position of Pushkinisms gets more objective in relation to associative terms where many base Russian lexemes tend to be directly connected with the work of the great Russian writer.
